Great Book....grating narration of Pop and friends

story line was great

Would you listen to another book narrated by January LaVoy?

If "Pop" and his friends were not all yelling every time they spoke...there must me a better way to portray "deaf" and "elderly" but I honestly don't know what that would be.

I liked the reader's voice through most of the book but had a hard time with the shouting parents.

Reminds me of a Nancy Drew book

Obvious that the male characters were read by a female. Story line fairly good if you can tolerate the fake accents and overdone character voices.

Yes, espically to those who are Catholic, while it isn't a major part of the story in anyway I love Mary's parents and their friends the tony's who are pretty Catholic

What other book might you compare Accused to and why?

John Grisham books maybe.

What does January LaVoy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings the Charectors to life, espically the DiNunzio's and the Tony's. As you can tell I love them.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not to much, but I normally don't react in this way.

Easy, interesting listen.

The story started off a little slow but kept me hanging on; then it got good and ended great.

Great story ruined by a poor narrator

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator. The older male characters were loud and grating, and made every scene they were in unbelievable. I think that reading them normally would have made the story much much better. I also found the voice of the young girl to be overly bubbly and annoying. I don't think the performance got any of the characters right, except perhaps the fiance and the boss. Ruined a good story with likeable characters.

The characters, the twists and turns.

Not sure

Yes, depending on casting

Some of the voices/characters were very irritating. The story was so-so, nothing I would read again.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Thank you Lisa Scottline for bringing them back. Going to have to buy the next in the series and listen to that too!

What made the experience of listening to Accused the most enjoyable?

Entertaining, interesting, lightweight. The story line is good not great, but there's too much of the cliché Italian family and neighbors and WAY too much of the father, given that the narrator screams all of the father's lines. It's so grating! I got good at fast forwarding so I wouldn't have to listen.
