twisted soap opera
If you're looking for an indulgent and juicy story - this is the book for you. It has all the ingredients of an easy read, soap opera characters and novella plot line. Nothing too predictable, but also nothing too far for the imagination.

Characters that You ( I ) love to hate
The title said it all! Rotten Apple indeed (to the core!) Infidelity and revenge with plot twists galore. The icing on the cake was the engaging narration. I wanted to yell at Alex ....excuse me, Alexander to get over his bad self . Stick with this one to the end (not hard to do!) and you will not be sorry. Suspenseful & entertaining

A great listen with a surprising bad/good guy

First, the good. This was a great story, an incredible thriller and a really intense no-that-did-not-just-happen ending. The narration was incredibly well-done and I got completely lost in the story.
Now, the bad. The good guy was such a bad person. The lines blurred. I no longer knew who to root for. What a ride!!

Hang on! lots of twists and turns!
this is such a good book! I would recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers. poor Julie! and her husband is such scum! I loved poor juice. she was nicely written!
Its hard to know who is good and who is bad! Such a great job of writing. so worth the credit!
So many twists and turns! hand on! this gets intense!
I can't wait to see more from this written!

Nothing Rotten here...
What made the experience of listening to Rotten Apple the most enjoyable?
The narrator was excellent. The slightest lilt in her voice for different characters made them believable and not cartoonish.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Rotten Apple?
My most memorable moment was when the killer was revealed. Although I called it early in the book, the reasons were very interesting and unexpected.
What about Stephanie Dillard’s performance did you like?
Stephanie did a great job with the character voices, but also never left her cadence the same throughout. Each sentence was read stand-alone, and it seemed as if she was truly into the story, which made me that much more interested. Sometimes a continued cadence by a narrator lulls you to sleep - that never happened in this book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I wanted to feel for Alexander's plight, but I never found him to be a sympathetic character, although I get the feeling I was supposed to feel sorry for him at times.
Any additional comments?
The middle of the book drags a bit - there is a lot of information that could have been collapsed into shorter chapters (or combined into one chapter). I understand what the author was going for in building the story arc, but the information came so slowly at times that I was ready to get to the climax of the story. Great narration got me through those parts.
