Cat Hayden returning to her childhood home after 19 years, is a different person, and a tragic accident has left her insecure about her appearance. But her heart is still filled with memories of the love she left behind - Blake McBride. Blake recognizes Cat with his heart, a heart that never stopped loving her. But that heart was broken when she left so long ago. Can he trust her again and rekindle that flame that burned so strong? A champion barrel racer before the accident, Cat finds herself instructing Blake's talented yet temperamental 14-year-old daughter, Demi. Demi is determined to see her divorced parents find happiness together, and Cat, great coach or not, doesn't fit in the picture. During a bitter legal battle with his ex-wife, Blake stands to lose custody of his daughter. Cat stands by her man, but can he fight for his daughter and keep the woman he loves, or will shattering events tear them apart - permanently.

I am still not a big fan of the narrations he sounds just too old for the characters.
I liked that Cat wasn’t overly dramatic about her past, it was just what it was and she was moving on from it.
I liked Blake for the most part, there was one scene with a 16 yr old boy he kicked out of his house it just left a bad taste in my mouth like it was just unnecessary. Even being a single father and seeing that they were actually studying it was just too much. But say la vee, the rest of the book was enjoyable.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes.Its a sweet second chance romance. I loved both characters, I understood both of them, and as much as I wanted them to be together, I admired Cat for having the courage to leave and try to built a life outside of the small town she grew up in.
Blake also moved on. He got married and divorced and has a beautiful daughter. He also has a bitchy ex (as all male characters seem to have).
Have you listened to any of David Quimby and David Quimby ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Great narration, brings the sweetness of the story and the small town atmosphere to life.Any additional comments?

Would you consider the audio edition of Roping Your Heart: Riding Tall to be better than the print version?
I think I would prefer the e-book version more in this particular book. The narrator did a good performance, but didn't have enough differentiation on the character voices. What was one of the most memorable moments of Roping Your Heart: Riding Tall?
I loved it when Blake heard from his ex-wife (Sally) that she thought Demi would be better off living with him. Giving up legal custody was huge. Also, I loved the fact that Sally wanted to thank Kat for her support. What does David Quimby and David Quimby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
David Quimby did a good performance, but I wasn't sure if he was the right fit for this book. His voice is calming, but doesn't stretch enough for all of the various characters. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
The story is very good and would be awesome to listen to in one sitting.Any additional comments?

Would you listen to Roping Your Heart: Riding Tall again? Why?
I enjoyed the story but there are so many audiobooks that I want to listen to, I probably won't listen to this one again. I loved the narrators voice! I'll be searching for more books narrated by him. What did you like best about this story?
I really liked the development of the relationship between Cat and Blakes daughter Demi.Which scene was your favorite?
When Cat and Blake meet again after 19 years. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Blakes all encompassing love for his daughter Demi.Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. This was a real sweet, second chance romance. The multiple subplots could have been expanded to make a longer, more interesting book but it was well done for under 6 hours of listening. There were 19 years from when our H/h last saw each other. Initially I thought "Good. I like more mature adult romances." Unfortunately for me, very little concentration was put on their being middle-aged. Not even a groan when they got out of bed -LOL.
That said, the characters, the situations, the attraction, all made for a fine romance. The narrator's voice is perfect for this type of country western setting. He has just the slightest drawl and slowness in talking that southern/western USA dictates. Great job!
Two Thumbs Up.
