Publisher's summary

I didn’t have a lot, but what I had I was proud of.

I was raised to keep my head down and work hard.

I followed the rules, rarely straying off the straight and narrow path.

That’s why, when the opportunity to get wild and have a little fun presented itself, I jumped on it - or more like, on him. The handsome cowboy from the bar.

It was one night in Vegas.

Afterward, all I had was the memory of his body pressed to mine and the hotel room key I swiped as I snuck out.

I never expected to see him again.

I definitely never imagined he’d show up in my small hometown seven years later, only to discover the daughter he never knew about.

CANNOT STAND A SELFISH MOTHER!!!

I seriously do not know why I chose to read this book. I am not a fan of secret baby romances because authors never make them realistic. It's always, "aww you didn't tell me I had a kid and you deprived our child of a parent, it's ok I forgive you".... please, give me a break. Any mother who willingly keeps their child from a parent for no other reason than she was scared to tell them is a piece of crap and doesn't deserve to be a mother. When you become a parent, your feelings come second to what's best for your child but in this book, that is clearly not what happened.

The h used the excuse of not wanting to ruin his career, when really it was because she seen him with another woman when she went to tell him, never mind it was his SISTER!!! But, put that aside, even if he was with another woman YOUR CHILD DESERVED TO KNOW THEIR FATHER, PERIOD!! That's what never makes sense about secret baby romances. The authors NEVER acknowledge that the child missed out and that the child was wronged, they only focus on the reasons why the other parent was never told. Let's just forget about the emotional damage missing a parent can do to a child, it only matters that the mother was hurt - again I am screaming WHAT ABOUT THE CHILD! For once I would like to read a secret baby romance where the father gets pissed on their child's behalf and the mother has some type of consequences. I wish an author would write a H that flat out asks the mother "how could you do that to your own child". Whenever I read secret baby romances, I always want that asked, but of course it's never about the child just the selfish mother. I will get off my soap box, but just know, if you keep your child from a parent for any other reason other than that parent is abusive in some way, then you do not deserve to be a parent, you're too selfish.

Why 1 star - the h is selfish, period. She is also immature but puts on a good act, I guess. I just couldn't get behind her keeping her child's father from her, so that made it hard to enjoy their "happy ending". I would have appreciated it more if there was more of a conflict regarding Melanie keeping father and daughter away from each other.

Connor is one of my favorites, so his narration was perfect. The female narration, I could have done without, but I'm pretty sure that's just because I couldn't stand Melanie.

Anyone out there know of a good secret baby romance where the h actually get's pissed and does something about it????
I would love to read that...
