Good but...

I really liked Colin UNTIL his own book. Jeez, he was almost a surlier, angrier version of Anthony. Plus he was a whiny brat to boot. Given his talent for writing about the beautiful places he was fortunate enough to visit, his bitterness and jealousy was almost too much to overlook. Penelope was a very compelling character, but a trend I’ve noticed in this series is how the strong female characters turn into doormats at the hands of their husbands. Anthony redeems himself, but not before I wished to throat punch him more times than I have fingers and toes.

The romance between these two never seemed real or robust to me, except perhaps the balcony scene. A real shame because Ms. Quinn excels at passionate yet poignant love scenes. So why four stars? Because the plot and the characters are still that good.

I have loves every book in this series so far but this one really takes the cake! I had the best feeling of happiness and excitement throughout the whole story! this is one I will definitely be listening to again! ( and I'm not one who re-reads many books) I 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I love Penelope's character from the series, so I choose her story to begin my journey into the books.
It did not disappoint. I also enjoyed Rosalyn's narrating. A couple of the male voices were a little cringey, but give her a little credit for trying the low tones. I couldn't do any better, I'm sure.

Julia Quinn & Rosalyn Landor are perfection!

This is my favorite of Julia Qinn's Brigerton series! It is part of a series, but stands very well on it's own. It was actually the first one I read & was hooked! Rosalyn Landor does a superb job as usual. she brings the page to life.

Another Memorable Julia Quinn Bridgerton Classic.

This was my favorite of the series so far. it was full of unexpected twists and turns and ever a few surprises. I'm addicted to this series and can't wait to get to the next book. This one will be hard to beat though.

I love reading them and will be sad to be finished with the series soon.

The sweetest story in my opinion

I really enjoyed how Penelope and Colin came together. It warmed my heart and it made me happy to feel their way to the difficulties of their past. Can't wait to continue the series

Wowza!!!

Again I fell in love with the characters. I think I can see me in Penelope. She is such a treasure to read about. Colin compliments Penelope so well.... they are written superbly together!

Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington's story was very cute! Penelope has been in love with Colin for years Her best friend's older brother and she is a shy wallflower! But she is smart and witty underneath! I enjoyed the secrets. Terrific narrator!
