Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes the first book in a new sexy duet.

How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony-looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add - especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed god of a boss.

Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.

Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.

And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.

I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.

I wasn't supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.

As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting - and complicated.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet. Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May, 22, 2018.

Great story BUT

The story is beautiful and I love the characters, but I hate that authors are now just ending the story line in the middle. Novels are supposed to have a beginning, middle and ending. This book just stops! Need to wait for the next book coming out in May

Love the book.Hate the cliffhanger!

The book was great. I don’t like the fact that it was ended as a cliffhanger.

Unsure

Not completely sure how I feel about this one. Story started off great...then right as you get to the should be good part it took a nose dive. They could’ve allowed us a happy moment before but nope, totally robbed readers of that. Decided I was close enough to finished I’d listen to the rest even though I no longer cared for the storyline that fizzled out completely at this stage. Then after some boring chapters, came yet another twist that suddenly made it much more interesting, just as it ended on a cliff. I wanted to rate this book higher but the end did not live up to the beginning.

A COMPELLING DUET WRITTEN BY A TALENTED DUO

Well this review is going to be short and sweet... not because I didn’t love it.. because I absolutely did, not because I wasn’t entertained by it.. because I so was and not because I thought the dual POV plotline lacked anything.. because the sizzles, the simmer, the banter, the build and the romantic feels were all there. No, it’s because book two is locked and loaded on my iPhone ready to be heard and, because there was such a nasty twist of a cliffhanger at the end of this book, I just can’t wait to hear how it’ll impact on lives and what the fallout will be on a hero and heroine who so deserve a HEA ending.

Worth a credit? Compelling.. and yes maybe a little predictable - but I really don’t care.. I loved it anyway.. and I loved the way Sebastian and Maxine brought the characters to life, set the tone, gave it sass and delivered all the emotional feels that made this a 5 star very creditworthy listen.

🌟🌟 5 Stars 🌟🌟

Gia and Rush might be my new favorite couple! These two banter better than anyone. I loved how when they met he tried to be bossy and a jerk and she wasn't having it and gave it right back. My favorite kind of heroine. I loved the direction this book went for Gia and loved Rush's reaction even more. These two are hot with amazing chemistry. I was hooked from chapter one. Loved the shocking (not really) outcome. Was 5 stars but....

I have to say if I had listened to this before book 2 came out I would have been outraged at the cliffy that was like a bomb went off and it ended! Thankfully I had them both and was able to go right into book 2. One other thing, I don't really know why this is 2 books. It's one story cut in half and sold as 2 when total it was only like 14 hours on audio. That works ok with ebooks but audiobooks are expensive and having to buy 2 to get a 14 hours story is hard to swallow no matter how amazing the story is.

The narration was FANTASTIC! Sebastian York was the perfect Rush. Maxine Mitch is also perfect for Gia! Loved the narration choice!

Really.

Here we go again. Another awesome book leaves you hanging. You greedy little authors. We will always enjoy your books without you leaving us in suspense. These authors need to get a grip and realize we can actually put them out of a job. So tired of these stupid cliffhangers. Well anywho. This book was definitely a good read. Sebastian York could read the newspaper and I would listen. Enjoyed the book.

Unbelievably predictable....

Very disappointed with how this book went. The romance build up was ok but the cliffhanger was annoying since most listeners will see easily predict what direction the drama will take early on in the book. The book ends essentially at the mid-point of the overall story so if one cares to continue with it you have to buy the second book. At this point not sure I will bother. I also didn’t love Maxine Mitchell’s performance as Gia so that didn’t help the story. Sebastian York was great however.

I HATE AUTHORS WHO ONLY GIVE YOU HALF A BOOK!!!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

With two great Authors you could have given us a complete story in one book. If I had known this book was a cliffhanger I would have waited for all the books to be available. I thought "Book One" meant the first in a Series not that it was half the story.. Most Authors who write Series at least give you a complete story in each book. I would have paid double to have a complete book

The Story was good but predictable. I guessed the next event chapters before the actual event.

What about Maxine Mitchell and Sebastian York ’s performance did you like?

LOVE Sebastian York. His voice is Sex to my ears.

Do you think Rebel Heir: Book One needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There should be another book because the story is only half finished. If the Story isn't completed I really will be disappointed in these Authors.

Any additional comments?

I feel the half book is just a marketing trick. Your readers/listeners are not idiots if we can't have a full story we will stop purchasing the Author's books/series until they release the full story.

Best Performance Combo Yet

As always love these two Authors. The only way to make it better is the new combo in narration! Maxine and Sebastian are the best duo yet. Please oh please let them work together more!

And of course the narration was awesome with Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell . They pull you in and don't let loose! Fantastic listen!
