Publisher's summary

I met the president's son when we were both young. Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent. I'd never met a guy like him. He promised me that he'd never run for president. I promised that if he did, I'd be by his side. Two terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton's campaign is the most exhilarating opportunity I've ever experienced. I'm determined to make a difference; he is determined to win.

Focused on his goal, Matt is steadfast, ruthless, and disarming. All eyes are on him, and his popularity is surging. But soon the next possible president of the United States is possessing me in more ways than one - and despite the risks, I'm helpless to resist. We're stealing touches, stealing moments, and stealing away at night. But our chemical connection is quickly becoming dangerously combustive, putting not only my heart but Matt's chance at the presidency on the line.

Contains mature themes.

BORED OUT IF MY NIND😴😴😴😴😴

This book is very dull. There is no chemistry between the two. I am not sure what demographic would enjoy this book because it's entirely too slow for me. I will not finish!!! Narrators did what they could with this blah blah blah.

BORING...

H/h is so boring. Over all this book could've been so much more. The plot had so much potential and it just didn't deliver.
I felt no connection with H/h. Not to mention the sex scenes lacked luster. I even skipped the scenes.
IMO wait for the sell. Do not use a credit.

Yeah, And ...?

If you've ever had someone to tell you a story and when they were done you wondered what was the point of that, then that sums up "Mr. President." The story started off interesting enough but then went into the back story that lead to that point. The back story should have been summed up in one chapter and then gone on with the rest of the story that could have been completed in one book. The book ended on a cliffhanger that wasn't really. If this is a trilogy that drags on what could have been told in one book, then this will probably be the only book in this series I will listen to. This story has a great premise but this first book didn't have much substance.

The narrators were interesting and kept me listening until the disappointing end.

If I hadn't listened until the end, I would have returned it. The story was okay but not good enough that I want to listen to multiple weak books to find out what happens.

ok but a little disapointed

It was an "ok" audiobook. The dialog was a little boring, especially for the candidate's character. I expected more dramatic drama, but there wasn't any. And, as too often, the end of the book doesn't really complete the story, so stay tuned for the next in the series. The female narrator was pretty good, the male narrator was just ok.

A PASSION, PLEASURE & NO PROMISES CAMPAIGN

First I've gotta say aaaaarrrrrrrgh.. because it's a Duet and I wasn't prepared (or ready) for a frustrating cliffhanger ending. Now that that's out of my system.. on to the review.

This book is entirely relationship driven as you hear about Charlotte's first encounter. at aged 11, with the President and his son Matthew - and her fascination with the handsome charismatic young man started from there. But it would be 11 years later, when a letter written by her eleven year old self, would reappear to change the course of her life and her future. Because in that letter written to Matthew long ago was an innocent young girl's dreams.. dreams of him running for President and her helping him achieve it.

That treasured letter would be the catalyst that started it all but it would be their chemistry, attraction, desire, like-minded views, heart, heat and love that would eventually follow. It was said in their tentative touches and heated looks which led to stolen kisses, intimate liaisons, passionate embraces, whispered words and soaring souls. But they both knew it couldn't last and their end date would be a day to celebrate and a day to grieve.. because that day would be the day Matt would be elected President.. and Charlotte would have to walk away from the other half of her soul.

There was a prologue that foretold of a future tense scene as the results came in.. but the getting there was a rollercoaster of emotions for these two loveable characters as they battled their consciences and their hearts. But they both knew getting Matt elected President was the right choice.. and the only choice open for him was to get there without a wife by his side after he had watched his Mother's lonely years as First Lady and he just wasn't prepared to condemn any woman to that fate. It was touching, tender, sweet, sexy and sad too as their first hope-filled steamy looks eventually turned into dejected despondent stares. This touching love story was mostly told from Charlotte's POV but I wish they'd been more from Matt's and the narration was really good.

Worth a credit? It's not going to ring everyone's bell as there's no sudden drama, no suspense, no thrills and no other woman/man.. but it certainly rang mine so YES creditworthy - however, I wish it had been a whole book instead of another devious duet.

Scandal comes to Audible!

This was a good listen about the Hero who is running for president has an affair with one of his interns. They both end up falling in love with each other. This also ends on a huge Cliffhanger. A good listen not as great as her Manwhore series so I was a little disappointed.

Scandalous

With the country's current political climate, I though this would make an interesting listen I was not disappointed. Matt is a young independent presidential candidate looking to make real change in the country. He the son of a former president. His character reminded me a lot of JFK jr because he was so charismatic and loved by the public; American royalty if we had it. Charlotte was also from a political family. This entire thing started with a letter she had written to Matt saying she would support him if he ran for president.

I really enjoyed this one. It was so scandalous and forbidden. I found myself imagining what it would be like in real life if an unmarried potential candidate was caught having an affair with someone on his team. His bachelorhood made their romance so forbidden. I could understand why he was so against having a relationship but I felt as though Matt were being selfish. You can't be a bachelor President, knowing that you can't give her what she deserves while also expecting her to still carry on a secret relationship. that was the big problem. However I loved both characters. I thought their chemistry was good and the issue at hand was believable. My only problem was the cliff hanger. I hope the next book comes to audible soon.

I think Isabelle Gordon was an okay narrator. Her delivery didn't bring a lot of passion to the story for me. We don't here from Matt very much; which means John Lane didn't get as much speaking time. From what I had heard, he did an okay job as well.

IF JFK Jr????

Narrator, Isabel Gordon, a.k.a. Gabra Zachman is a top favorite of mine. She can read a romance like no other. Hence this free download. However, I was greatly surprised by the listen as the author made you Think of the late JFK Junior and the photo gallery pics That were publicized. Make no mistake. He was a hunk. And you can’t help thinking that the author modeled our hero after JFK Junior in looks. The author makes our hero. Not only Gallant, American through and through, but the candidate we would love to see any time. Onto book 2.

Horrible editing and monotoned narration

Sedating monotones narration. Clumsy, very blotchy editing with obvious break and insertions of do-overs that were of an obvious faster speed. Back and forth speeds were so distracting that I couldn't focus on the story. Gave up before I completed Chapter 1. Wasted a credit but will. It waste another one.
