A not-hot mess of a short

This plays like a mash-up of storyboard concepts into a clunky outline of a book. It’s a bunch of contrived plots to justify insta-lust and get to the two, explicit but not very sexy, quickies. F-bombs clash with ditzy phrases like “holy fart of a frigging disaster.” The tone is also all over the place. The narration is breathy regency, or dainty anime…but the title Dark Spaces concerns the literal dark afterlife necessary for satisfying nooky. What?! Contrary to the title, cover art, or some of the concepts, this is not a “dark” story; this is more along the lines of campy space romance.

She’s an author of a fantasy sex blog, Sexy Space Station, starring the Commander of the space station she lives on. Guess what happens when said Commander walks into her shop? Yeah, got it in one.
He’s an alien warrior who lets empathic sand tell him who to mate with. He takes her by their second meeting without explanation. And the good reason for not taking five minutes to explain a forced life-mating is…? Yeah, there is no good reason.
