Publisher's summary

R.S.V.P. to the most riotous wedding of the year....

Lucy Jorik is the daughter of a former president of the United States.

Meg Koranda is the offspring of legends.

One of them is about to marry Mr. Irresistible - Ted Beaudine - the favorite son of Wynette, Texas. The other is not happy about it and is determined to save her friend from a mess of heartache.

But even though Meg knows that breaking up her best friend's wedding is the right thing to do, no one else seems to agree. Faster than Lucy can say "I don't", Meg becomes the most hated woman in town - a town she's stuck in with a dead car, an empty wallet, and a very angry bridegroom.

Broke, stranded, and without her famous parents at her back, Meg is sure she can survive on her own wits. What's the worst that can happen? Lose her heart to the one and only Mr. Irresistible? Not likely. Not likely at all.

Call Me Irresistible is the book Susan Elizabeth Phillips's readers and listeners have long awaited. Ted, better known as "little Teddy", the nine-year-old heartbreak kid from Phillips's first best seller, Fancy Pants, and as "young Teddy", the hunky new college graduate in Lady Be Good, is all grown up now - along with Lucy from First Lady and Meg from What I Did for Love. They're ready to take center stage in a saucy, funny, and highly addictive tale fans will love.

She's back in her game with a good narrator too

After her last 2 books, I can say that SEP is back in the game. I did not like Glitter Baby because I did not like any of the characters. As for What I did for Love, well Julia Gibson destroyed it for me. While Anna Fields has left huge shoes to fill, I think Shannon Cochran did pretty good job. The characters were flawed but likeable, which is an SEP trademark. And yes, many aspects of the storyline have been rehashed in other books, but who cares, it is a sussessful formula and should be used multiple times. At least I can say this for myself, I always come back for a second serving of SEP's macho male character and headstrong damsel in distress any day. My only regret is that Lucy did not seem anything like the teenager she was and story B (an SEP trademark) was missing. Nevertheless, I loved the book, especially the culminating finale at the landfill.

Love it!!!!

I loved it, Well anything SEP writes I love. I just wish she would write more, you can't help but fall in-love with all of her characters and want to hear from them over again in other books. You read one SEP book you got to read them all. The Narrator was good but I miss Anna Fields she was so much a part of all the characters she left her stamp on them. Thank you SEP for another great audible book. Pam

Excellent!

I was worried about whether I would like the new reader who replaces the late Anna Fields. Anna/Kate had such a remarkable voice and had read so many of Ms. Phillips books. I wasn't sure I would adjust to a new voice.
I needn't have been concerned. Shannon Cochran is excellent and remarkable in her own way. I'm glad her voice is low pitched as Anna's was. I don't think I could stand hearing a high-pitched voice for these books. Ms Cochran is amazing with her range of voices & accents. She nails the Texas twang pretty darned good if this old Texan may say so.
And the story itself is fine as wine. It took me a bit to get past how everyone was so mean to Meg and what a pity party she had going. However, it was fun to watch her come out it and grow into the woman she needed to be. I was more iffy about Ted Beaudine. He comes across as a cruel person for awhile. But all is well at the end. I thought this book was better than "Natural Born Charmer". I just didn't care for Blue Baily there. To each his/her own, I guess.

Super Susan Elizabeth Book

Typically wonderful! I love these books for pure enjoyment. I wish it didn't take her so long to write each book. I would like a new one each month!

Irresistible fun

I have read all of susan Elizabeth Phillips books and love the humor, witty banter and fun characters. This book is a follow up story about Teddy. Want to learn more background - it starts with Fancy Pants, Lady Be Good First Lady, Glitter Baby and now this. One. Next is the Great Eascape. All are very good and don't necessarily have to be read in order to enjoy this book. But all the previous characters are included in this book and fun to meet them again. This story is about Teddy (St Teddy that often has halos, birds or trumpets sounds his arrival) and Meg a daughter of the rich and famous who have cut her off financially and she has no clue about her self and what she wants. Fun story I've listened to several times over the years.

After the long wait

I don't know.. maybe because I waited forever for this book to come out and that made my expectations too high?? Personally feel it is not as good as some of her others and I love SEP's books. I'll have to listen to it again, I guess. But hope Lucy's story is better.

enjoyable

I always like S.E.P but this one wasn't quite as fun as some of her others, this one was a bit too sinister at times. Mostly well written and funny and fun but occasionally not so much. would still recommned it and most likely listen to it again or get the book and read it myself this time.
