Publisher's Summary

R.S.V.P. to the most riotous wedding of the year....

Lucy Jorik is the daughter of a former president of the United States.

Meg Koranda is the offspring of legends.

One of them is about to marry Mr. Irresistible—Ted Beaudine—the favorite son of Wynette, Texas. The other is not happy about it and is determined to save her friend from a mess of heartache.

But even though Meg knows that breaking up her best friend's wedding is the right thing to do, no one else seems to agree. Faster than Lucy can say "I don't", Meg becomes the most hated woman in town—a town she's stuck in with a dead car, an empty wallet, and a very angry bridegroom.

Broke, stranded, and without her famous parents at her back, Meg is sure she can survive on her own wits. What's the worst that can happen? Lose her heart to the one and only Mr. Irresistible? Not likely. Not likely at all.

Call Me Irresistible is the book Susan Elizabeth Phillips's readers and listeners have long awaited. Ted, better known as "little Teddy", the nine-year-old heartbreak kid from Phillips's first best seller, Fancy Pants, and as "young Teddy," the hunky new college graduate in Lady Be Good, is all grown up now—along with Lucy from First Lady and Meg from What I Did for Love. They're ready to take center stage in a saucy, funny, and highly addictive tale fans will love.

Irresistible this book is not!

All of SEP's books are eagerly awaited, but this story was such a disappointment. It has stellar characters who did almost nothing. The heroine whined a bit, and there was almost no motivation to explain the hero. I truly missed the secondary romance that are in most of Phillips' books. The new narrator was flat so much so that times her voice pulled me out of the story.
Far from irresistible.

The title is perfect, as is the book!

The minute I see a new book by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, I order it immediately. I don't even have to read the synopsis because I know I'm going to love it. This one is no exception. Maybe I was just starved for one of her books, but it may have been my favorite.

There is never a dull moment in a book by SEP! They are always impossible to put down. I've read every one and several I've read twice! As I finished this "irresistable" book, I realized I had a big smile on my face. The narrator was wonderful, too. She really understood the characters and made them seem so alive to the listener.

Please give us another book soon, Ms. Phillips!

Thoroughly Enjoyable!

I totally enjoy all Susan Elizabeth Phillips books! Her stories and characters are so fun, I love them! However, the narrator makes the book for me, and with the passing of Anne Fields, I thought I would never enjoy Susan's books as much as I had in the past. But I must say that Shannon Cochran did an awesome job with the narration of this book, and I enjoyed it very much! It took me some time to realize that there are other great narrators that are as enjoyable as Anne Fields, and while I miss her narration soooo much, this book is a great listen! I highly recommend it!

Pre Req's not Required.

I have grown to love SEP books. They are fun, easy reads with strong female leads. I hadn't read Fancy Pants or the other book that followed so I was a little worried that I'd be lost. Not so. It's an easy listen, the narrator is great and SEP provides enough background info on the characters that the story is easy to follow. I loved meg's character. She is smart, strong and determined to make it on her own after her family cuts her off. Ted is just hot! I loved their chemistry and I loved the characters in this small texas town. I was sad when the story ended.

SO FUNNY!

Read a couple of reviews that were SO off the mark, jaw dropped. Yes, this one didn't have a zany opening, like many of hers, but it was SUCH a great listen. Listened to it for the first time on a long drive to doctor's office, and swear that people on the road passing me or driving beside me thought I was insane, I was laughing so hard. Surprised, really, that someone didn't report me as a crazy person on the road. Continued while walking dog, same thing. I'm pretty certain neighbors thought I'd lost it. SO GOOD. And can't say enough about the reader. She handled Texas Southern, UK English, no accent US English, and male sexy (and there were LOTS of sexy males) so perfectly. She came as close to Jim Dale doing Harry Potters as I've ever listened to, where she didn't really need dialogue tags, because I knew instantly from the voice who was speaking. That's truly my test.

I've now listened to it about 8 times, mostly the others while I turned on friends and family to SEP books. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM went out and found the audio some other way, as my evil plan was to give them a taste, and let them take it from there. My father, not even a romance fan, asked me the day after he listened to part of this, to go online and find a list of SEP in order of release, and then mark the ones that were golf and football related. He's since listened to at least three, and keeps going back for more. His health is shaky right now, and listening to SEP is a respite, and, I THINK, wonderful for his health.

disappointed

I usually love SEP books especially on audio. I did not enjoy this one though. Anna Fields is deeply missed. Natural Born Charmer will always be my favorite be my favorite and Anna Fields was a part of that. I also enjoyed What I did for Love which had a different narrator. This was a deep disappointment for a SEP fan.

An irresistible romance!

I'm not the type of woman who reads only romance, but this is a great, fun story. I would definitely say it merits the top 5-star rating, paticularly within the genre. There is definite substance with well-developed, vivid characters who find their way into your heart, and an actual plot with interesting events. Well done as an audio production also, with a narrator who is skillfull in bringing the characters' various Texas and British accents to life.

Love it!!!!

I loved it, Well anything SEP writes I love. I just wish she would write more, you can't help but fall in-love with all of her characters and want to hear from them over again in other books. You read one SEP book you got to read them all. The Narrator was good but I miss Anna Fields she was so much a part of all the characters she left her stamp on them. Thank you SEP for another great audible book. Pam

Wonderful..SEP does it again!

Highly Recommend this funny touching account of Meg, a sassy, gutsy, success challenged young woman, who finds herself and finds Ted, a financially successful, emotionally challenged, Texas hunk. The dialog, the plot and the narrator does a wonderful job....if you listen to this you will have experienced life in Texas with all its loveable bigger than life characters. The narrator is exceptionally good as is the story! I love the fact that SEP uses familiar characters from her other stories. Now I'll have to listen to Glitter Baby and Fancy Pants again. This book is right up there with Natural Born Charmer. I'm already listening to this one a second time and I just finished it! SEP... Thank you for a wonderful vacation, please keep writing! I'm already looking forward to your next book. This one was OUTSTANDING!!!

Nice to spend time with old friends

I thought this was a sweet story. It was nice to go back to the characters that were so wonderful in the earlier books. I missed hearing their familiar voices through Anna Fields but thought Shannon Cochran did a very nice job. Narrators like Anna Fields are hard to come by, she was one of the greats. Although, as some other reviewers wrote, the story line was familiar it was still a good story. The right balance of humor and romance. It made me want to listen to the other titles again.
