Publisher's summary

Nothing is fair in love.

This is my kingdom. My territory. I own everything and control everyone, Aurora included. She shouldn’t have barged into my world with no armor. She shouldn’t have caught my attention with no warning. Alas, she did. Then she thought she could disappear. If a battle is what it’ll take to protect and own her, I’ll shed blood. Wars aren’t fair, and neither am I.

Rise of a Queen is the second part of a duet and is not stand-alone.

Excellent ending to Duet

This was the continuation of Aurora and Jonathan's story. You think one thing of Jonathan but it gets all turned around in this book.
Aurora manages to surprise you with her strength with what she has been through in her life and what she goes through in this part of the book.
There are many surprises in this last part of the Duet and Rina Kent manages to pull it all together seamlessly to satisfy the reader and answer all the questions that floated around from the last book to this book.
I loved this book and recommend this book to anyome looking for a dark twisted romance.

ugh not worth it for me.

I know a lot of people really like this two book series but I just couldn't get around the main girl being a total airhead. its like she didn't know common sense. I struggled with the first book too thinking after reading the reviews that she would overcome her flightiness and not to mention I got hooked on the cliff hanger. I feel like this story would have been wonderful if she wasn't constantly downing everyone and everything around her. I had to keep skipping when she would constantly repeat things like he doesn't care about me or love me after everything this man has done for her. ughhhh so annoying. I would like to say the voice actors were amazing and the plot of the murders could have been wonderful if done right. but really I wouldn't think its worth a credit.

Shocking

I really enjoyed this second book to this duet. There were a lot of “what the heck” moments, especially at the end when you find out who has been trying to kill Aurora. I love how she’s slowly making Jonathan care about Levi and Aidan. Their relationship is hilarious, because even though they don’t act like they care about each other, they actually do. My favorite scene in here is when Levi and Aiden have the cooking contest.

One of the best things is during the epilogue where we hear how Jonathan is as a grandpa. But my most favorite person in this book is Layla. She has got to be one of the best characters who was created by Rina Kent. I love her, and I hope, in the future we could find a little tidbit of how her life ended.

AWESOME BOOK

No one will ever guess who the bad guys are... it's not what you think. The series had me on the hook and I couldn't put the audiobook down. GREAT JOB RINA AND THE NARRATORS WERE OUTSTANDING!

All Hail THE QUEEN.

There could not be more perfect narrators for this story.
Shane East and Keira Stevens.
I'm SCREAMING.
.SCREAM.ING.
I can't put into words just how obsessive I've become over Rina Kent and her world of delicious, alpha, possessive (I mean OMG POSSESSIVE doesn't even put into words..) men. Jonathan King. Is. Daddy.
That's the only way to put it. The way Aurora and his story flows. It's literally like watching a movie.
I can see everything crystal clear. I can hear it all. It's like I KNOW these characters.
The tension, the angst. The absolute power between them? Incredible.
The narrators bring this book to life like you wouldn't believe. I LOOOOOVE the accents. I love the way they change their voices for the characters. I loved everything about them.
I devoured this book. And I'm on to all the other Rina Kent words because MY GOODNESS I've been hiding under a rock with this author. She's quickly become one of my favorite, FAVORITE writers. I'm enthralled and I can't wait for more. If you havent already started on her books, START THEM NOW. Don't wait like me.

Daddy Jonathan 🔥

I loved this book. The growth in Jonathan was wonderful. Aurora brought so much to his life showing him things he'd never felt before for anyone. It was easy to see where Aiden got his possessiveness from although Jonathan never experienced it before Aurora. I do have to say IMO that Aiden is still the most possessive. Gotta love those Alpha King men. Narration was duet style and definitely the best kind. Both narrators are great! Shane East is a go to guy for me and I think his narration of Rina Kent's books is his best ever. I think its mainly due to my love for the darker bully romance alpha male books that I love to listen to and that's what Shane has the best voice for and Rina is best at writing. I really loved the story. It was my second time listening but felt like the first. I sure hope that there will be a book about Ethan. Maybe he will be paired with Laylah because I sure would like to see her get "her daddy" lol!! Wonderful duet that is a must listen. Dont pass it up.

Jonathan King is my everything!

I am so obsessed with him! There isn't one thing I don't love about him. He's my ideal possessive Alpha male character! Also I'm super duper proud that I have finally been able to crawl deep enough into Rina's head that I actually figured out the mystery this time! First time in the whole series I was right! 🙌 so proud! On to the Epilogue book 🖤

So so good!

Great conclusion for Johnathon and Aurora! Love this entire world that Rina has created. And hearing it in audio makes it an even more amazing experience!

Wow I couldn’t believe who it was!

Such a good story. Jonathan is a King…..he is daddy 😜. I devoured these two books. Spice 4/5. The twist in this book took me by surprise…I can’t believe who was behind it, and what else they did!

The story continue

Aurora and Jonathan discover betrayal close to them and secret are reveal. The narrator bring in so many emotions. Jonathan just need someone to change his black heart only to the people he cares about.

Cannot be read as a standalone

There's not a lot I can say plot wise with regard to this since it's the second in a duet. But listening to this on audio has raises my rating again. On top of that, while I had feelings after reading Reign Of A King, I still have feelings after reading Rise Of A Queen. I was on the edge of my seat throughout reading this and even then it didn't prepare me for some of the twists this book took. Daddy Jonathan and his alpha yummy and Aurora being delightfully human and real. The combination of these two was everything. Pile on a narration duo and style that I have come to favour while listening to this authors books and you have a fire duet and it's quickly becoming the standard when reading and choosing dark romance. I volunteered to read and listen to a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Fabulous

This is the cutest series ever. I know I am saying that about a dark romance, but honestly, those can sometimes be the best romances in my opinion. That ending from the first book was so amazing - tilting the story on its axis - that I just had to get the next book in the series. At the start, I got a little worried that this book wouldn't be as good as the first one but I shouldn't have, the story was just as fabulous! If you loved the first book then there should be no question as to whether you will read this book so I won't talk about how I would definitely recommend it. I totally called what happened to Alicia, however, you don't know everything until it is literally happening and you are a bit blown away by the reason behind what happened. The ending seriously leaves you feeling amazing! Now, let's talk about the narration. It was a duet!!! I love duet narrations and think there were no more perfect narrators than Shane East and Keira Stevens when it came to this series. I really hope you decide to read this series. Enjoy!!
