We all know the system isn’t working. Our governments are corrupt and the opposing parties pointlessly similar. Our culture is filled with vacuity and pap, and we are told there’s nothing we can do: “It’s just the way things are.”

In this book, Russell Brand hilariously lacerates the straw men and paper tigers of our conformist times and presents, with the help of experts as diverse as Thomas Piketty and George Orwell, a vision for a fairer, sexier society that’s fun and inclusive.

You have been lied to, told there’s no alternative, no choice, and that you don’t deserve any better. Brand destroys this illusory facade as amusingly and deftly as he annihilates Morning Joe anchors, Fox News fascists, and BBC stalwarts.

This book makes revolution not only possible but inevitable and fun.

What did you love best about Revolution?

His passion for the subject matter.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Revolution?

No one moment. Throughout the book one feels that indeed not only is his revolution needed but also possible.

What about Russell Brand’s performance did you like?

Glad to see he read the work. There's no doubting he is British which is part of his appeal.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Early on in the book he describes his return to his hometown. You can sense how disappointed he was at how the lives of it's inhabitants had changed only for the worse.

Any additional comments?

Russell Brand’s Revolution is a must. An insightful critique peppered with his own brand of humor. He lays out for all to see what is wrong with contemporary society, especially 'so called' western democracies. The book lays bare for all to see how in need we are for makeover. Evident in his rage is how we’ve all been sold a bill of goods, that greed is good – not. He not only presents to us the worlds maladies he offers possibilities for peaceful revolution if we could only get beyond ourselves. He’s got the gift of gab of a Cornel West, the insight of Norm Chomsky and he’s funny too.

A funny man with a conscience

This is a book I plan to listen to multiple times because I'm sure at first listen, I missed some of the subtleties he laid out. Also, there were points where it was slightly hard to understand him because his accent is rather thick. Even so, one of the best books I've ever had the pleasure of listening to and would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Brilliant on all fronts!

Would you listen to Revolution again? Why?

Yes I would listen again. Russell proposes many many good ideas that need to be studied in closer detail.

What about Russell Brand’s performance did you like?

Do not underestimate this man's performance abilities and intelligence. He knew just how to read this book. He managed his speed, his intonations, his volume perfectly to what he was reading. Someone who did not write the book could not have performed it the way he did. He was intimate with it because it was his own work.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. This book needs to be listened to with patience and time. There is a lot of information that really needs serious consideration. It would be too much all at one time. Take your time listening. Make notes about what he says. Go do research for yourself.

Entertaining and Insightful
