Resumen del Editor

In Atheism Kills, Barak Lurie exposes the horrors of a world without God. Contrary to the mantra we've heard time and time again that religion is responsible for more deaths than anything else, it is in fact the absence of God which has killed - in obscene numbers.

Ever since atheism first assumed government control in the French Revolution, it has done nothing but kill. Atheism has killed through its many deputies: progressivism, eugenics, fascism, and communism. Lurie shows that it was the godlessness in each of these ideologies that killed hundreds of millions. But atheism doesn't just kill lives. It kills purpose, free will, beauty, compassion, a sense of the past and future, creativity, and freedom itself. Atheism offers only the horrors of chaos and totalitarianism.

The world misplaces its focus on Radical Islam as the greatest threat to civilization. As horrible as it is, it is doing nothing and having no sense of self which are the true enemies. It was our will to fight and sense of mission that overcame fascism and communism. We must have these to keep Radical Islam at bay, too.

This is why we must resist the growth of atheism. It was God that gave us our freedom. It was God who gave our sense of purpose that created civilization. Take those away, and there is nothing to fight for. In this way, Lurie shows that the lack of belief in God is our greatest danger. How does he know? Because like there will always be fires, there will always be enemies that seek to destroy our civilization. But if we don't have fire stations with crew, and protocol in each city to deal with fires, those fires will consume us. Likewise, how we prepare ourselves to deal with horrific ideologies will be what saves us. That preparation can only come with our embrace of the centrality of God.

Informative and Entertaining

Barak has a pleasant, understandable voice. His research seems extensive and fair. Peculiar, but an atheist I know told me God has killed billions. He pointed to the Old Testament, e.g. Noah.

I enjoyed listing to this book

Easy to kill people when you dehumanized them and it's easy to do that when you are an atheist

Exactly

This book represents all I want to stand for before my friends and family but lack the knowledge and wisdom to do so, it is all I want to say but find my self not knowing how to do.
I highly recommend it’s in the top of my list and definitely a must.

Great book

Thoughtful; many emotional stories; clear perspectives on evolution; connects atheism and political consequences in step by step analysis; great job in narration.

Worth a listen/read

I believe it does a great job of sharing what a true atheist would believe. And also how to potentially counter those beliefs with logic. Also brings out the importance of how we should acknowledge God as a society, otherwise we are likely to descend into chaos and brutality.

One of a kind

There are many books on atheism, and many of them are quite good. This book stands WAY out amongst the lot for a few reasons which I'll try to explain. Most seem to approach atheism from the philosophical and historical point of view, from the outside as it were, and then try to refute it with an apologetics. That has its place I admit. The approach of this book is not so much telling you about atheism directly, or rather from a frontal approach, but shows you from the inside the atheist him / her self. Furthermore, he comes to this point of view with the most profound insight of what the deepest human need ACTUALLY is. HERE is the formula of This truly Wise book. Only from this formula does he get to the true depth of not only what atheism is but WHY atheism is andwhat its consequences are to the human soul and our society. Is it not the atheists soul that's in pain and lost after all. They may deny they are one, yet hope seeks that Books like this may help them open there eyes and hearts. And yet....And yet.. ,the unmistakable reality that there chosen paths has direct consequences which deeply harm us ALL, not to mention our future generations .I for one feel both compassion alongside anger for those who walk this incredibly destructive road .. Well done Mr.Lurie. You truly are a wise man and I'm grateful you wrote This Book.
P.s. The narration was also expertly performed by Mr Lurie with fine tone and needed intensity.

Fascinating, Brilliant and Uplifting

A wonderful book, I enjoyed every minute and each chapter became my favorite. Before I started reading it, I thought I would like the book because I already agreed with its premise, but I didn’t realize I would learn so much and be so entertained and enlightened. It’s packed full of stories and facts with humor and pop culture sprinkled throughout. The message is important and relevant and is inspiring and hopeful. I liked listening to the audible version because I got to hear how the author wanted to express it. It was clear, pleasant and easy to understand and my long commute zipped by.

Barak’s Nightmare

How sad it is was to share in Barak Lurie’s belittling perspective that the potential of humans starts and stops with their belief in the Judeo-Christian god.
