Laurelin does it again!!!

First, Shane East saying dirty things and narrating an asshole is one of my absolute favorite things. Elena Wolfe is in top form. This book kept me on edge, just as in the first 2. I cannot wait for the conclusion. I want to ask Laurelin, who hurt you?!?!

Great series

I love this book series. However I hate that we have to wait so long to get the next book. I didn’t finish other series because of the cliffhangers. I have to say that is a complete turn off.

I’ve been reading another series that has multiple stories in it. It’s a continuation of a series through different lenses. I love that. I hope the next book is the last in this series.

It’s like pulling 🦷. How much longer will they drag this out?

The story started off quick and fresh. Now it’s like pulling teeth for it to progress. She’s seriously dragging it on for as long as possible.... no thanks

Edward and Celia try to workout the dynamics of their relationship

This pair have so many psychological issues as a result of their warped past that following the twists and turns of their marriage keeps the listener completely engaged. The cliffhanger though is completely predicable, especially for anyone familiar with the last Alana and Hudson novel. Worth the credit and hopefully the next book will be as well. Excellent narration. Since Edward’s son Hagen hasn’t had his own book maybe fans will have an additional story that includes Edward, Celia, Genevieve, Chandler, and maybe Hagan, Hudson, and Alana.

Everything Laurelin Paige has written...

Everything Laurelin Paige has written has led up to this series! It used to be a fight between Donovan Kincaid and Hudson Pierce. But oh my melted panties, Edward Fasbender is owning me in ways that would make those boys blush. This series... The sexiness and subtle mindf*ckery between Celia and Edward is unreal. This book tackles some SERIOUSLY heavy topics. But Paige writes in a way that keeps the book captivating, thought-provoking and amazingly hot! I read the book and then listened on audio (bc Shane West & Elena Wolf, duh) and now I love it even more. Not sure I'll survive waiting on the conclusion- it may kill me. But oh what a way to go: a smutty smirk on my face and Edward Fasbender on my mind.

Why do I do this to myself?

I *knew* I should wait for the 4th book to be released (today is Feb 25th and it won't come out until May 13th) and yet I couldn't wait...
One reason I should have waited was because it takes me a while to get into the rythm of the main characters with all their issues and truths. I have a hard time with both Edward and Celia for related reasons: he is too hypocritical and willfully blind to his own issues, and, in turn, is unfairly harsh on Celia. Meanwhile she doesn't push back hard enough.

Then again, I assume that it's that dynamic that drives the book. This is where I have to give some major props to Laurelin Paige for creating two layers of conflict in this series. Many books in this genre use only either one conflict that's outside of the character(s) or the character(s) themselves are flawed.

I hope that Edward will finally come to realize how his own issues negatively affect his relationships and therefore finally and truly appreciate the gift of those people in his life and how they're more important than revenge.

We'll see!

Binge Listened to this series 3 Days

Didn't know what I was getting into when I first listened to Rivalry, I thought it was going to be like any typical contemporary romance novels on audible, but boy was I wrong. This is my first series with Laurelin Paige, and The series is well written and well performed by Elena Wolfe and Shane East. It's compelling, dark, romantic and thrilling. Definitely worth a credit.
Its way better than Netflix. Can't wait for book four for the finale of Edward and Celia.

Power and passion

Edward and Celia have the marriage they now desire. Celia is a refreshing new start and it turns out it’s the type of marriage he’s always craved. There’s just one obstacle, Edward wants to exact revenge on any and everyone who’s ever wronged his love in the past. Celia is ready to move on with her new life. Can they move past this and how far is Edward willing to go? An opportunity presents itself for Edward to take down the person that’s left the deepest scars on Celia, he goes through with it after Celia decides to support him with some cajoling. This takes Edward on a power trip, it gives him an unnatural high with a God complex he’s eager to embrace. Celia wants no part of it. Can Celia live with the decisions her husband wants to make on her behalf, can she accept how far he wants to go, what’s next? Let’s see how this all plays next. Their chemistry grows hotter despite the odds their facing and Edward is scared to lose her. This series just gets hotter and more intense than ever.
