Publisher's Summary

An intimate, funny and frank account of the moments behind the music, of the truth behind the headlines and of the fascinatingly complicated man behind the imperious entertainer, Reveal is Robbie Williams as you've never seen him before.

More than 12 years ago, Robbie Williams and Chris Heath published a groundbreaking memoir, Feel, about Robert P. Williams' rise to fame - a book that was met with worldwide acclaim from critics and fans alike.

Since that time Robbie has released six solo albums, reunited with his old band Take That and, in the wake of his 12th UK number-one album, returned to the stage with a sold-out run at Wembley Stadium.

In Reveal, best-selling author Chris Heath has been working closely with Robbie for many years to create a personal and raw account of fame, fortune, family and music - a vivid and detailed story of the real highs and lows as Robbie has found his way forward, that is unprecedented in its intimacy and honesty.

Long-awaited by millions, Reveal is the uncensored and compelling portrait of the man as you've never seen him before.

Absolutely Briliant!

First of all I am in awe of the dedication of Chris Heath to making this book the no holds barred masterpiece that it is. The years spent putting this together is mnd boggling and I for one am very grateful. Secondly...the narrator Joe Jameson is masterful in bringing this story to life! He shifts into characters effortlessly and fluidly and made me question if Rob himself had actually recorded his own quotes.... he is that good! I smiled for my own reasons many times while listening but I also cringed at times. It is as raw as you can get! 👏

Honest and insightful, brilliantly read

A thoroughly enjoyable biography that provides an intimate look at Robbie the artist and human, disposing with false rumors and opening up the humorous, intelligent and vulnerable person that Williams is. The book benefits from the proximity of its author to Robbie as a friend and confidante. The quality of the narration cannot be topped, as Joe Jameson does spot-on voices of Robbie and others. It was like having Williams right in my ear!

Love his music but not his life

I struggled to get half way, then I gave up. I am interested in mental problems of artists and performers, thus his life gave a deeper knowledge of the problems people have but it will always be a struggle to understand what goes on in our minds.

Amazing experience.

I'm always eager to learn more about Robbie, who is a one of a kind entertainer. I love this book! So many great stories. Besides, Joe Jamison, the narrator, is a true artist. Excelent reading rhythm and impersonation of the various voices in this book. Robbie's and Gary's were incredible. I almost thought It was them speaking.

Narrator putting me off

I was looking forward to this book. The narrator mimics the accents of those mentioned in the book. I find this annoying although appreciate the effort. Would rather it was read in one accent. Am sticking with it although I’m not sure I will listen until the end.

Open, honest and heart warming

I loved this book. I mostly listen to novels and put off this one even though it’s been on the list. I shouldn’t of because it’s the best thing I’ve listened to in ages. I am an unapologetic Robbie super-fan and proud of it, and I believe that Chris Heath conveys everything so nakedly and truthfully that this feels more like a brilliant fly on the wall docu drama and it really works. I was emotional and outraged learning of the negativity that Robbie deals with at times and I was also enthused and happy listening to the connection that comes through with Robbie and his wife Ada, who is clearly the best therapy Rob has ever had. There will always be haters, usually those who are spurred by jealousy and are pretty insensitive people, but there will also always be more of the people like me, who get this funny, eccentric, super talented legend. Rock on Robbie, this book is Awesome.

excellent, even if your not a robbie fan

excellent read. I'm normally put off if the biography is not read by the author. you know. If they can't be bothered to read it, then why should I. well I kind of went out on a limb with this one. or to be honest, I was bored an just clicked on this as I couldn't be bothered searching anymore.
I'm glad I did. excellent read, everything you'd expect. funny, honest and informative. definitely gives you a different view of robbie. I have met him a couple of times an kind of knew of him, with coming from the same home town it's hard not to. But there's alot I didn't know either. Goes into depth into how badly he is affected by all the negative press he receives. the way it's read, is by the author, but the other parts, I.e. robbie, aids, an anyone else that pops up, is read by an imprresionist. But is done very well.
overall good book. only reason it didn't get full stars, was the ending seemed to come pretty abruptly, think sopranos.

Rob or Robbie - you decide...

In his own words (and Chris Heath's)... you have been warned!
An entertaining way to spend 17 hours in the company of one of pop's most engaging and divisive figures. Realities emerge about tabloid vs "quality" journalism, fandom, trolls and haters, the evolution of celebrity culture and pop consumption over nearly 3 decades.
Also, unfiltered insights into Being Robbie and Rob.
Is it definitive? Surely not. Is it intriguing? Absolutely. Prone to repetition, deviation? Yes. Hesitation? There's always the Pause button...
4 stars. But caveat emptor.

Like an episode of loose women!<br />

Written by someone who has pieced together Robs life from interviews , emails and tweets!
Soo disappointing! No funny rock and roll stories of hedonism and little insight into Robs colourful past . This is PG rated dribble about a pop stars insecurities. Censored to the point of boring !

Funnily and touchingly honest

An apt title, Reveal reminds us that Robbie has been in the public eye and at the top of his game for nearly thirty years.

It’s easy to forget Robbie was only fifteen when he joined Take That (2 years younger than Mark, 3 years younger than Gary and Jason, and 6 years younger than Howard) and away from the fame and the trappings of fame, Robbie’s relatively normal. Yes, he has a whacky sense of humour, a motor and potty mouth but one doesn’t have to be a pop star to have these.

Surprisingly for a warts and all biography, all the people mentioned in the book comes up well with the exception of the vile and exploitative Nigel Martin-Smith. I came away with even more love, respect and admiration for Robbie, his family, Gary, Howard, Jason and Mark.

The narrator Joe Jameson did a good job of capturing the essence of Robbie and the cast of characters quoted in the book without descending into parody.
