Publisher's summary

The last time he saw her, a storm nearly killed them both. He saved her life. He never forgot her. Ten years later, they collide in New Orleans, and she needs him again, but now, she refuses to even let him see her face.

When Ophelia woke up in the hospital, she had no memory of the deadly tornado that left her permanently disfigured. All she has is a million unanswered questions and a note:

Ophelia,

Get well soon.

Sincerely,

Scott Latimer (The guy you bumped into right before the storm.)

PS - If you ever need anything, call me. I'll be there.

Years later, Ophelia is struggling to keep her late grandfather’s business afloat. But with physical and emotional scars from the storm that nearly killed her, just leaving her house is a fight she rarely wins. Gripped with desperation and a harebrained idea, she reluctantly ventures into the French Quarter in a last-ditch effort to save the business.

Just as the crowds of gawking tourists overwhelm her, she attempts to flee back to her house, but then, she collides with a man whose eyes have been etched into her mind for ten years.

“I’m Scott Latimer,” he tells her, “I think I can help you.”

She only knows his name from the note he left. But what he knows is the key to the mystery that has plagued her for a decade, and might be the key to saving her grandfather’s legacy. Unfortunately for Ophelia, finding out requires trusting Scott enough to talk to him, and she can't even trust herself enough to look in the mirror.

As the first full-length novel in the Romance in New Orleans series, Return to Me is equal parts slow-burn romance and gripping recent history with an HEA that will leave you crying tears of joy. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and magic of the novel.

Wonderful Story & Listen🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt!

I loved everything about this book, from Katherine L. Evans’ wonderful writing style to the beautiful story and characters she created. The storylines are original and realistic, they grabbed both my attention and my heart and held it captive the entire book. The characters are complex and well developed, they are likable and easy to relate to. I adored and admired both lead characters, Ophelia for her inner strength, a strength she always had but never knew it until she reached for it and for her drive and determination to make her grandfathers business a success. Scott Latimer for his patience and good heartedness and for also following his dreams, determined to become a successful reporter & writer. The two met under tragic circumstances, it was a brief but meaningful meeting. It was during a time both wanted to forget but they never forgot each other. Years later they meet again, he is doing a news piece and she is trying to run the antique show her Grandfather left her a long side her Grandmother, who was a hoot. Scott is attracted to Ophelia but he has to go slow because she has self esteem issues but he does gain her trust and friendship. I loved these two together, they were perfect for each other. Also loved the descriptive details especially that of life in New Orleans, the big easy is not so easy. Great job capturing the struggles and times of Katrina and giving a glimpse of what it was like for some. This book is lengthy but do not let that scare you, it plotted out nicely and is so engrossing that you forget time and it seems to fly by. There is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some heartbreaking moment, heartfelt ones and a slow burn romance. Katherine L. Evans, thank you for this wonderful story and the emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to what comes next in this series, I hope it comes to Audible soon.

Jeff Marcus is a terrific narrator and voice artist. He did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and giving each their own voice, personality and attitude. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he projects the character’s passion & emotions into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank for you this great listen🎧

This book brought back memories.

This one will grab you right from the start from the horrible tornado to another even more deadly event Scott and Ophelia’s story was so good. I will be honest at the end I thought the author might go another way with the book and that would have put a different mood to the book but how she did end it was good. I also liked the lead into the next book. When reading I get the feeling that she may have had some experience of what happened because she wrote it so well. I highly recommend this book and two thumbs up to Jeff Marcus is was totally awesome. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Beautiful

This is a poignant story about how a tragedy turned into friendship and love. How Scott left Austin to New Orleans for a new job and to find Ophelia. This is about how Ophelia gained confidence and believe in herself after tragedy. This story is about how they slowly develop their friendship and love, only to lose trust in him. Will he come back when she needs him the most?

Love New Orleans Based Stories!!

#AudiobookObsession

This book was set in New Orleans which is one of the reasons I was drawn to this book. Mr. Marcus did an extraordinary job narrating this well written story. I felt like I was actually in New Orleans because of well the city was described. Even the horrific ramifications of Hurricane Katrina were well described and respectfully spoken of. Mr. Marcus does a wonderful job giving each character their own unique tone and captures the emotions of each during a time of emotional turmoil. His voice, no matter which character he is voicing, has you feeling the emotional rollercoaster that Katrina caused. You will possibly cry and possibly laugh. You may want to close your Kindle and say "I can't take anymore" but then pick it right back up saying "I have to finish. I have to know more." But this book is worth the read or listen.

Emotional

Scott saves Ophelia-Leah- after they are caught up in a tornado. 7 years later they meet again in New Orleans. The feelings I experienced in this book as they city of New Orleans is it by Katrina we’re almost overwhelming. I actually felt like I was living it. I wasn’t a big fan of the narration. It’s ok but the writing is 5 star
