It is so easy to get lost and lose focus on Jesus. This book put everything back in perspective. Not only did it remind me of truths I had almost forgotten, but I also learned new information and spiritual truths.

Beautiful! Penned by a modern day prophet

There is a lot in this book. Looks at history without shying away from his own origins. Gives practical ways to care about life from the womb to the tomb. Clearly he has lived near these life issues in the form of relationships via his proximity to them. Shane shows as much as he tells. Blessed to be alive to know this modern day prophet of hope! Lord give us eyes to see and ears to hear and hands to work and hearts full of love .

The more I read and see the works of Shane Claiborne, the more I am inspired to live the true words of Jesus!

So close

I have been deeply influenced by Shane’s other works, but this one was disappointing to say the least. He points to important facets of life, but still selective. The book is punctuated constantly with jokes and asides about killing animals (petting the rabbit I’m going to have for dinner, for one), eating animals, etc. Not spiritually revolutionary or focused on radically respecting all life at all.
