Publisher's Summary

To save the only man she's ever loved, she must pay a price.

When Dr. Meghan Forester, a young researcher, helps create a vaccine for the deadly Makanza virus, her goal to annihilate the virus is coming true.

But the question remains - what becomes of the Kazzies? They'll always be infected carriers of the terrifying virus. Despite being newly vaccinated, the public still believes they'll die if exposed.

As government discussions about releasing the Kazzies meets public resistance, a frightening event plunges Meghan into the Kazzie world with Davin at her side. Unwittingly, she becomes the poster child for a political movement to free them. But when an old enemy resurfaces, Meghan learns that to save the only man she's ever loved, she must pay a steep price.

2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back

This second book will take you along with characters on a series of ups and down as Meg and the Kazzies try to figure out what life after the vaccine will look like. While the entire population has been given the vaccine, the Kazzies still remain locked up in the compounds. As Davin looks to the future, he alternates pushing Meg away for her own good, and further developing their relationship. Meg's new focus is fighting to set the Kazzies free. Her hopes are shattered when instead of real freedom, they are just going to be moved into a reservation and again locked up, but this time behind a fence. When they are finally moved to the reservation, Meg and the Kazzies get a nasty surprise that forces Meg to make a devastating decision.
I loved the narration of this book! The narrator really sucks you into the story with all the emotion she puts into the telling. You can clearly tell the difference between the characters and see bits of their personalities in their voices.

Forbidden love

It’s a pretty good plot to continue the series. Meg and Davin got closer which I truly appreciate...but “it can never be” was way overuse phrase. I mean, I get it! They can’t be together, “forbidden love” and all. Furthermore, it took awhile to get the to point/step for the kazzies. It dragged a little. Yet, it doesn’t mean I wasn’t intrigued to read on. I didn’t lose interest for the kazzies and getting justice for them. So, in that sense, it’s a 5 stars for me! I think, however, if I read this on my own, I would struggle big time and so happy they decided to have the audio on book 2. I saw book 3 does have audio, too! Hoping book 4 will get the audio (crosses fingers)

I love this series!

First off let me say the narrator is amazing and brings this story and the characters to life. With that said this series rocks!! The more the storyline develops the further i get sucked in and hooked. The characters are amazing and you find yourself invested in each one. There are funny moments and heart wrenching moments...(that ending)!! If you love a good post apocalyptic type story this one is for you. This should be a tv series, I'd faithfully tune in!

Drags on

This series could be just 3 books instead of 5 but the author has Meghan talking inside her head all. the. damn. time! Every little detal is described painfully to where I juat want to stop listening. But, I want to know how Davin gets out of all this so I keep pushing on. Meghan is insecure, whinny and spineless but towards the end of this book she starts to get a back bone. Nothing really exciting happens. It's frustrating when she has to be quarantined with them for 3 weeks that you would think they would kiss or at least want to but barely even happens. I like more heavier romance in my books, I guess.

It ended, now what?!

Reservation 1 was an excellent book. The storyline was enthralling. At first I didn’t want to put it down, then I didn’t want to pick it up, for fear it would end. (Then I started walking around, telling Megan that she was making stupid choices, and the book ended. ) I would recommend waiting to start this book until the next one is available. Your choice, but don’t say I didn’t warn you!

The performance was excellent, with the narrators voice really becoming Megan’s.

This is a book I would read/ listen to again.

Amazing audio book!

From beginning to end this pulls in and doesn’t let you. I love characters and the story plot. They are all fully developed and suck you right in. The narrator is also on point. She is great at the reading and switching from person to person to person. If I could give this more stars I would!

Can’t wait for the next!

I loved this story! Excellently written by Krista and performed by Vanessa. It’s was great to continue the story with Megan and the Kassies. I think that Krista has probably predicted just exactly how the world would react in the aftermath of a pandemic and the challenges that would be left for the survivors
