Sweet Second Chance

Though a little slow, this sweet story is a wonderful continuation of the family saga. I’m sure it can be read as a stand alone, but it’s probably best if read/listened to after at least the first book. RL is as usual a brilliant narrator. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Great book and series

Every book in this series is great. I really like that the author wrote such a lovely story of a middle aged couple falling deeper in love.

The Long awaited Book…

Ordered mos ago,7th Jan publish date seemed so FarFar away, as I wound up the Series The all important Matriarch’s story ,must be heard. Loved entirety! Read “Comments” & total letdown anticipated, BUT, just completed & disagree. Perhaps age appropriate, life exp has much to do my liking in-depth explanations of being SoulMates,their choices & happenings past 30yrs. The factors do culminate in cherish findings, 4th phase characters embark so beautifully, Red Door Worthy too.

roslyn Landor gave another wonderful performance. I was really looking forward to this story, as I have loved all the other books in the series. As a woman of about the same age, some of the story spoke to me, but it just didn’t have enough excitement. I love this author, but this is not my favorite. I think it just needed a little bit more of something, and I was very happy in certain parts, it just dragged a little bit in places. I will continue to read everything I can by this author, as she is still one of my absolute favorites.

Mary Balogh never disappoints

If you have read Mary Balogh before then you will know what to expect in depth of character and descriptions of time and space. Rosalyn Landor is good at bringing different character to life.

Mary Balogh never disappoints! This is a lovely story about second chances. Rosalyn Landor is amazing.

Loved It

I am in love with this series and this book. I am not usually one for second chance romances or for “mature” love interests, but I absolutely adored this book. It is now my favorite of the series. I will definitely listen again. Clarissa’s and Matthew’s story was simply wonderful.

Rosalyn Landor is my favorite narrator. This was a wonderful series highly recommend Great listening. I hope they never stop having real people narrator these books. The virtual voice does not do any justice to the listening of these books.

Great idea for a story, but not at all Mary Balough's best; much too long

It's not terrible, but definitely not Balough's best. Read other series and earlier books in this series first. Otherwise you probably will write her off as not worthy of continued reading. As almost always, Rosalind Landor was a wonderful narrator. As a mature widow with grown children, I very much appreciated the storyline. However, the story was interminably long. I lost patience and finally breezed through five chapters to get to the final two.

Not a lot of excitement.

This didn't give me the excitement I usually expect from this series. I was hoping for more bang with the conclusion of this book than I felt. The story was not disappointing in itself, but for some reason, it didn't have a hard punch, considering we are seeing The Dowager Countess get her happy ending with the man she should have married years ago. I was happy to see that her family supported her heart's choice and showed a good level of understanding in her choice. All in all it's a nice ending for her story and I was happy with the HEA. Yes, I'm glad I used the credit for the book.
