My Head Hurts

I know this type of book is pumped out like water, but is it so much to ask for a story that doesn't drop information that never happened out of nowhere? I've never listened to a book ever while saying out loud "wait! when did that happen!" or flat out "that never happened!" so many times in my life. If this book wasn't AI generated then the two authors involved needed to communicate better on what one or the other was contributing so as to not completely contradict each other which I can only surmise is what happened during this disaster of a collaboration.
