Story
Manifesting God is about the principles of contemplative prayer - the retreat into the inner room mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 6:6, where the individual is able to meet God. In the inner room, the silent space in which God unloads the burdens and false selves that govern our individuality and our daily lives, God acts as a divine therapist, healing us and forcing us to recognize how many barriers we put up between ourselves and an authentic relationship with God.

Publisher's summary
A distillation of over 70 years as a monastic and more than three decades of writing on centering prayer, Reflections on the Unknowable is Fr. Thomas Keating's volume on how we might develop our intimacy with God and our experience of the Christian contemplative tradition. The first part of the book consists of a long interview with Fr. Thomas, in which he examines concepts of the divine - including the astonishments, playfulness, and transformation available to the individual willing to open the door to God. The second section consists of 31 brief homilies, which range over topics as diverse as the Trinity and the message of Epiphany, spiritual evolution and cultivating interior silence, and the treasure of spiritual poverty and the beauty of chaos.

Worth The Read
Thomas Keating is an incredibly enlightened individual. In order to grasp some of his concepts you must be more than just a journeyman on the path. If you are of a conservative mindset you probably won’t agree with some of the things he talks about but I applaud his courage to do so.

Exquisite
Wonderful insights that could take a lifetime to digest.
Dan Carroll, was , sadly, not up to the narration, Americanised mangling of " Lisieux ", pronunciation of quote from St John of the Cross as " wound " ( as in 'found') rather than 'wound' as in to hurt or injure.
A profound, spiritual experience, otherwise.

Perhaps you've had one of those moments when everything, quite unexpectedly, simply falls into place; or, when you've been puzzling over an impossible question and - pow! - the answer suddenly arises, seemingly out of nowhere. These and other such experiences are not caused by our efforts. They are moments of grace, the gift dimension of life. Grace is generally associated with religion, but, as Dave Richo shows, you don't need to be religious to notice - and benefit from - this help from outside yourself that's being offered to you in every moment.

Story
The voice of the divine is as near to you as your own breath, just ask. That's what Reverend Deborah L. Johnson did in 1995. In a moment of darkness, there was nothing she could do but surrender. "Take me now, oh Lord." Almost instantly she heard whispers, and they turned into more than 300 letters from Spirit.

Story
Gerald G. May, MD, one of the great spiritual teachers and writers of our time, argues that the dark "shadow" side of the true spiritual life has been trivialized and neglected to our serious detriment. Superficial and naively upbeat spirituality does not heal and enrich the soul. Nor does the other tendency to relegate deep spiritual growth to only mystics and saints. Only the honest, sometimes difficult encounters with what Christian spirituality has called and described in helpful detail as "the dark night of the soul" can lead to true spiritual wholeness.

Story
In this comprehensive and groundbreaking work, mystical scholar Andrew Harvey unearths traces of the sacred feminine in major world religions - Hinduism, Islam (Sufism), Buddhism, Taoism, and Christianity - and in aboriginal and indigenous wisdom traditions. Harvey takes a strong stand against our dependence on "gurus" and "masters", proposing instead an egalitarian model of spiritual community based on intimate groups of mutually supportive guides and friends.

Story
Perhaps you've had one of those moments when everything, quite unexpectedly, simply falls into place; or, when you've been puzzling over an impossible question and - pow! - the answer suddenly arises, seemingly out of nowhere. These and other such experiences are not caused by our efforts. They are moments of grace, the gift dimension of life. Grace is generally associated with religion, but, as Dave Richo shows, you don't need to be religious to notice - and benefit from - this help from outside yourself that's being offered to you in every moment.

Story
The enlightenment you seek in other religions has been present in Christianity from the beginning. Richard Rohr, a global leader in spiritual awakening, helps you recognize the forces (such as ego resistance and dual thinking) that separate you from your deeper self. Then, drawing from Gospels and the greatest Christian contemplatives, he shows you what it means to be spiritually awake. You will learn why your ego resists change and growth, what is useful about popular ideas such as the law of attraction, what Jesus, the first mythical leader in the West, can teach you.
