Whew!!!! I’m not crying, you are!!

I wish I can give this work of art a million stars!! This book has caught my heart and took it and held it close. Reel has produced REAL tears from me and it was a pre-order WELL WORTH IT!! I love how the author brought the Era to life! The Era of struggle for freedom and rights fought for by our ancestors who have paved the way for us. I love how Dessi Blue and Neevah’s stories are mirrored. This is a “reach for your goal no matter what” story where the characters win! In love, In life. The narrators, as ever, did an AWE-MAZING job!! And I can say whole heartedly that Kennedy Ryan has become one of my favorite Authors to listen to! I do recommend this book! It will definitely be on my “repeat” list!

This is SO MUCH

I hope I will be able to edit this because I am sure there will be plenty more I will, at some point realize that I didn’t say in this. I’m writing this having just finished the audio. There is so much to this book. I found myself on the razors edge with this one at one point near the middle. I was truly afraid of what direction it was going to go into. But as I am now learning, as this is my second read of Kennedy Ryan’s books, she really does keep us in good hands.

She uses this modern romance to allow for her to tell the story of a classic character that mirrors so many real people from days gone by; some that may feel mildly or even fairly familiar to us. The inclusion of a chronic illness and how that affects not just the person that has said illness, but those that know and love that person… my word. This is just so good and there is so much here.

The performances here are fantastic. And the usage of actual music and vocal performances is such a huge bonus.

I love this so much and can’t recommend it enough!

My New Favorite Author

I've only listened to 2 of her books, but I am hooked. I love the research that goes behind her work and how relatable her work is to her audience. It is not all dreams and fantasy. I love the real life trials and tribulations her characters overcome.

I'm so in awe of this story. A definite good read.

This book was amazing. With this book I experienced every emotion possible. I definitely recommend this book.

Kennedy Ryan does not disappoint. The narration, the story, the history all work together to make this a beautiful and heart wrenching book. I never wanted it to end!
