From bestselling author David R. Slayton, Redneck Revenant is an exciting new chapter in the Adam Binder series.

Adam Binder’s life has never been better. Sure, he has no money, no car, no home to call his own, and he’s worried about creating a future with his boyfriend Vic, but he’s closer to his family than ever before. He’s also Page to the Elven Court of Swords, and that appointment is not without its perks—like the invisible sword strapped to his back.

But on Halloween night, Adam’s life takes a disturbing turn. Annie, his brother’s long-lost wife, turns up on her husband’s doorstep alive and well, with no memory of her death. But is it really Annie, or a Trojan horse from some new magical enemy?

To uncover the truth, Adam will need help from those he loves most—as well as a couple of friends at Rogue Community College. As he navigates a perilous maze of magical politics and battles terrifying creatures from beyond the known realms, Adam will discover a secret darker and more unsettling than anything he could have imagined.

This was a wonderful continuation for the Binderverse. I've grown quite fond of the cast of characters and the blend of modern and fantastical elements.
And of course, the narrator delivers another nearly flawless performance.

Another great story from Slayton

I loved the character development. These were flawed believable people trying to let go of their baggage and get on with their lives. I loved how perceptions, whether truth or lies, shape us. Yet, when confronted with the truth, we can choose to be free of the lies. Reading Adam’s story was like therapy for me. It made me take a hard look at my perceptions and whether I was living my life based on truth or my flawed perceptions.

I went through the first three Adam Binder books in a weekend at the beach. They were very enjoyable, with empathetic portrayals of all characters, thoughtful world and character building, and a fascinating description of the magic used in the realms. I found these traits continued in Redneck Revenent, much to my delight. The re-incorporation of Annie brought a new plotline into the story. One that, within the Adam Binder world, was plausible and interesting. I recommend this series to anyone interested in Fantasy, Magic, and the subgenres of Fantasy. I enjoyed especially that the faeries were present again! I do very much love their stories within the world of Adam Binder. All in all, an excellent segue from book III!

Very Happy to listen to Adam Binder's tales again

I loved this installment in the urban fantasy series centered around Adam Binder and the world of magic which lies just beyond what most mortals see. It was hard to put down with its layered storyline, witty dialogue, surprising plot twists, light romance, and suspense all woven together in a captivating plot. This book picks up several years after the last book ended. Adam has settled into a new normal, working as a mechanic and as the Page of Swords, still dating Vic who is working as a chef, and still living in his brother Bobby’s house. On Halloween, a knock on the door reveals Annie, Bobby’s wife, seemingly back from the dead after three years. Adam, Vic, Bobby, and Dautre, an elf assigned to assist him, investigate Annie’s reappearance and the disappearance of mortal witches at the behest of the King. In the course of the investigation, Adam again gets to unpack a bunch of his past baggage and make deliberate choices about who he wants to be. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, end of the world scenarios, mysteries, paranormal creatures, loyal friends and family, complicated families, painful pasts, mystical coincidences, snark, love, secrets, and laughs. I love this series. 4.5 stars.

Michael David Axtell did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Making hard choices for the right reasons

Love this series! I’ve really enjoyed the character development and how each one plays a part in the story. Very excited to see where the next book takes these characters…if there is one!? Author does a fantastic job of creating this world between worlds. A vast underworld and mundane land of the living. Great read!
