Fun retelling.
This is my son’s rating. I asked him what to write. He's 9 and loves this book. He usually saves 5 star ratings for his absolute favorites (and this was one of his absolute favs when he was younger). His only complaint is that the wolf dies. This is a humorous retelling and I personally like it a lot. Little RednRiding Hood is my favorite. So 5 stars from me. :)
Also, we loved the narrator’s performance.

Interesting twist on a classic story
Synchronized images worked on my iPhone.
The drawings were strange, not mortifyingly haunting, just strange.
That’s not how I remembered Little Red Riding Hood, but to each their own. I personally wouldn’t show this to the kids I care for, they might freak out over the wolf being shot and gutted, but it could be a good story for a 7 or 8 year old. The synchronized images don’t show the wolf being shot and gutted, it’s mentioned in the story to pull Little Red Riding Hood and Grandma out of the wolf’s stomach.
The narrator was great and so was the background music.

Story
In this Chinese version of the classic fairy tale, a mother leaves her three children home alone while she goes to visit their grandmother. When the children are visited by a wolf, pretending to be their Po Po, or granny, they let him in the house, but ultimately are not fooled by his deep voice and hairy face. Combining ancient Chinese panel art techniques with a contemporary palette of watercolors and pastels, this powerful story brings lessons about strangers, trust and courage to a new generation.
