Dysfunctional Family Drama Indeed

Entertaining read and a great cast of characters. I liked the multiple POVs and the nod to Claiming Sleeping Beauty*wink*. The narration, unfortunately, fell a little flat for me and didn't quite do the drama justice. I will continue support, however, as I enjoyed the overall writing style :)

Good read...I flew through this audible!

This was a good book. With all the characters to narrate, the Narrator did a great job. I love the storyline and this book put me through so many emotions. One minute I was upset, then swooning with the characters, then I was excited and just all over the place. It wasn’t a happily ever after story but it was realistic and I can see myself in the book.

Not for the Faint of Heart

Reckless Treasure is not for the faint at heart as there are quite a few adult situations that are resolved in unique ways.

Told from multiple perspectives, Reckless Treasure is about the coming of age of a girl whose mother is sleeping with her crush, whose twin brother is the scum of the earth, and whose best friend is pinning after her but she is oblivious to his feelings and intentions. Most of the characters are not likable except perhaps for Mr. Long who has a unique perspective on it all.

If you enjoy unlikable narrators and strange love stories than this book is for you!

Very Days of our Lives

This book followed the lives of several people. All of the main characters lives were all intertwined. It had a soap opera feeling. Several of the characters lusted after someone that lusted after a different person. I liked knowing what everyone was thinking during the scene and the different POV. If you need a HEA I would not recommend this book for you. I almost wish they would have all just gone in different directions at the end instead of it just ending how it did. If you enjoy the drama of something like "Days of our Lives" or "Young and the Restless" you probably would like this book.

I tried so hard....

I tried so hard to get through this book because the story line was great but the narrator just didn't do it for me. He was very flat and I never knew who was supposed to be talking. I rather read this book myself instead of listen which says a lot considering I listen to books about 90% of the time.

teen angst

This story is a slow indepth development of the characters. Mitch's love for Francesca is deep, but he doesn't want to ruin their best friend status. Francesca has a crush on the older neighbor. Her mother, Francie, is an opportunist! Always looking for a man with money to use, and encouraging Francesca to be more than friends with the rich boy, Mitch.
Along comes Mr. Henry Long. He's infatuated when he sees Francesca, a duplicate of his long, lost love. When he finds out that she is the Granddaughter of his beloved Julia, he wants to get closer to her and offer an opportunity she can't refuse.
I enjoyed listening to this story narrated by Greg Young. 🎧audiobookobsessionreviewer🎧

unexpected

This is not a HEA YA romance read - this is a heat wrenching read about hurt and betrayal. I have to say that really the only character I am truly heartbroken for is Mitch. This read has a multitude of in depth characters that the author delivers to us beautifully. However these characters are anything but beautiful with a myriad of flaws which anyone can relate to - nobody's perfect - but really this book will suck you in and spit you out and leave you wanting to know more. The narration was a bit stilted at times but still came across very well. Well written and enchanting but at the same time disappointing.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Might not be for everyone

I would like to thank Cecily Wolfe for a copy of this audiobook for an honest review.

The synopsis sounded really interesting. But this book was pretty hard for me to get into. I am not a fan of multiple POV unless I’m really invested in the characters. The narration made it difficult for me to get into this novel. He was very monotone so it was hard to distinguish the characters. That’s probably why I had a hard time enjoying this book. There’s definitely a lot of messed up family drama. This book just wasn’t for me.

Memories

This book is about Francesca, who is weeks away from graduation and doesn't know what to do with her life. She doesn't have a mother to help her since she is only jealous of Francesca, her twin bother is just a plain mess, and a father that she doesn't know what happened too. Everyone just wants to take advantage of her except two people. Her childhood friend that has loved her all her life and Henry, an older guy that was in love with her grandmother. So the question is... who will she choose down this path that she is trying to figure out.
This story line makes you go back to your own memories of high school and those challenging days of what to do after. What if we were given the choice that Francesca had, would we have taken it?
Narrated: Was a little slow when telling the story. Needs to have a little more emotions when speaking but really enjoyed.

Captivating!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, about a naive teenage girl and the challenges she faces in life. The divide between her scheming, gold digging family and her wealthier friends is really well written. The narrators voice really complements this story.
