Publisher's summary

I can’t stand him...and I can’t keep my hands to myself.

If my father finds out I’m an undercover cop, I’m a dead man. And if he finds out I’m gay, it won’t be much better. But I’m determined to take him and his corrupt MC down, even if it means working with Coop to do it. He can’t stand me - or any cop - and the feeling should be mutual. Instead, he makes me wish for things I can’t have.

I’ve been undercover for so long that I’m beginning to forget who the real me is. It doesn’t matter if being around Coop helps me remember. He might hate cops, but he’s the only one who can see past the mask I wear to survive.

I can’t afford to have a heart, and it doesn’t matter if I lose my soul. I need to take down my father’s club and end his evil, for good. Coop can’t be mine when I have nothing to give, and if anyone finds out about us, we’re both dead.

So, why can’t I let him go?

Rebel for a cause

I enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator has a good strong voice and was pleasant to listen to. I like the characters of Rebel and Coop, two guys who have made hard decisions and are trying to follow what they believe in. Really good story and I need to listen to the rest of the series.

I love this series

I absolutely love this series and Rebel didn't disappoint . I loved Coop and Rebel and the whole enemies to lovers was really good and how they both had to earn each other's trust and get past their Perception of each other in find out that they're really more alike than they thought and have so much in common and if they give each other a chance they could fall in love. I have all the books in this series and now I'm working on the audio books I'm looking forward to the next one

Oil and water friction has never been so good!

These guys start out oil and water. Rebel, with his mask tightly secured, and Coop with his needling and poking. Mistakes are made and two wary souls are now in a deadly situation and must work together. These two have a tense truce that turns to something hesitantly intense. This series is amazing- Hell’s Ankhor is the grounding foundation of these stories, all of which are fresh and unique. This story happens mostly outside Ankhor territory borders but it all still comes back to the camaraderie there. Happiness comes in the end, but there are loose threads left hanging- just like in real life. James Amherst does a good job making each man’s voice and inflections unique.

Affectionate nudges and kisses

This is a surprisingly great book. Exciting, thrilling and sexy, all neatly packed in one. I’m loving this series.

Rebel is an undercover cop who’s dead set on bringing down his father’s criminal MC organization. And Coop is rival member of his father who also doesn’t like him. But there’s no way around it and they two have to work together if they are to bring down Rebel’s father. And sparks started flying when they reluctantly cooperate with each other.

It’s really exciting and interesting yet at the same time quite heartwarming. I love all aspects of this story. I also like how these Two MCs are able to overcome their miserable situation and made the best out of everything. Highly recommended. Plus, the narrator did a good job with this book.

great listen

I really am enjoying listening to this series. James has a way of making you feel everything the charters are making you feel. The storyline is intense and great and keeps you entertained that before you know your talking back to the book and everyone is looking at you like your nuts. I truly enjoyed this book and can't wait to see whats next.

Great Addition to the Series

Wasn’t the biggest fan of the narration here, not sure why they didn’t use the same guy from the second book. He sounded like Casey Kasem so at first it was hard to take him seriously cause I was waiting for the countdown for the new top 40. The writing for this was great though, I really loved the whole undercover story and the enemies to lovers aspect of Rebel and Coop’s story. There was certainly heat baked into the scenes as well as a deeper connection between them. One other nitpick, the author kept using solar plexus over and over in a short period so much so that it seemed like they’d just discovered it on a word of the day calendar. It honestly made me laugh it happened so often which took me out of the story as well. The ending chapters were great though, and of course we have an open ended story regarding Rebel and Coop, as well as the start of Maverick’s story. I would have rated this a 5 but it lost a point due to the narration. Glad it looks like the next book is being narrated by the same person as book 2.

Bikers, action, and steamy romance. Yes please.

Rebel has been undercover for many years, trying to bring down his abusive father and his crooked motorcycle club. It’s come at a cost, too; namely his brother. It has taken an emotional toll on him as well. When he starts working with Coop, things are not very friendly between them. It was interesting to watch their relationship evolve. Rebel couldn’t afford the distraction, though. He’s come too far to mess it up now.

I enjoyed the writing and the way the story flowed. There was a good balance to the dynamics of the story, and the characters were likable or hatable, depending on which side of the line they stood. This series really needs to be listened to in order, as they each contain pertinent information for stories to come. Some of Rebel’s story actually begun in Gunnar’s book, and even from book one, where his brother was one of the main characters.

James Amherst is a new to me narrator. I thought he did a really good job bringing the story to life. His voice was perfect to portray members of a motorcycle club.

Rebel - pleasantly surprised

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I was on the fence about an MC story, but it was a good story. I wish I had listened or read the previous books first, but that was more for spoilers.

I wasn't in love with the narration. It wasn't bad, but it was a bit harder to get into at first.
