Resumen del Editor

I’ve never wanted a guy before.
Yet I can’t keep my mind off Dawson.
The guy is bad news and headed for the bottom of a bottle as fast as he can.
Too bad that’s a problem I can relate to.
The only woman I ever loved led me down a dark path of addiction.
I’ve been in recovery for years now. I won’t be someone’s fix.
Or their cure. I can’t be responsible for his sobriety.
If Dawson can get his act together, I could be with him.
But I’m afraid that a new chance at love will destroy me all over again.

I like to drink, but it doesn’t mean I have a problem.
Nix was supposed to be a one-night thing.
He doesn’t understand my life or my problems.
I’m in control. Always.
My construction work has me hanging around the clubhouse, so I get to see a lot of Nix.
And damn it, I want to see more.
But my demons might be stronger than I thought.
Will Nix still want me after I’ve hit bottom?

Two broken souls find their path to healing and love in Nix, a first-time gay MC romance in the Hell’s Ankhor world.

Meticulous and heartfelt narration

The richness of the characters and the intricacies of the plot lines in the Hell's Ankhor series never cease to amaze me. Everything is written with so much heart and the authors have given all these people souls. I get totally sucked into these stories and become very invested in the characters, all of whom I care about and actually like as people. There's nothing shallow or artificial. It's all rich with meaning, and a genuine understanding of life's quirks, triggers, situations, and traumas. David Allen Vargo continues to bring it home with his meticulous and heartfelt narration. As sorry as I am going to be to see this series come to an end, I can't wait for the next and final release - PRIEST. I have a feeling it's going to be a fitting finale in every way to this spectacular series.

Well done!

This book was a good addition to the series. Nix and Dawson fit really well together. The story showcased Dawson’s struggles with alcoholism. But, it also showed his strength in asking for help and following through with treatment. I was probably at a 3.5 for narration. The main characters were ok, but I wasn’t a fan of all the other voices. Overall I would still highly recommend this book.

Just Ok

Even though it is a good story, there is just a little bit to much angst, because of all the anxiety throughout the story.

Another Brother finds his happiness

This was Nix and Dawson story. We were introduced to Nix in the last book. He's Brennans best friend and coworker. They started dancing around each other while Dawson works on the construction site. Dawson is the child of an alcoholic and had never felt like he mattered or cared for. This upbringing affects his adult life in the form of his heavy drinking.
Nix is a recovering user and sees the signs. He's literally taken by Dawson that he bails him out of a jam. When that problem occurs again, he suffers the consequences of Dawson actions.
These two together shouldn't work but they do. It was heartwarming to watch them repair the broken parts to be together.

Love...

So I never really thought about how addiction and recovery can change dynamics between lovers. I know, dumb right? If it's not something you have dealt with then you can't presume to understand. This book brought it all out and made it understandable. These two guys just made me love this series so much more!! This book and this series is a must read!

Nix and Dawson

Nix is book 9 in the Hell's Ankhor series. I love this book and can't get enough of this series. Nix is a Hell's Ankhor member and Dawson is a civilian working on club property with Brennan, his boss, best friend, and Joker's partner. Dawson gets educated quickly that you can't get drunk in another club's territory, talk smack, and not think there will be consequences. This book covers a difficult subject, alcoholism, and that it doesn't always look the same in everyone. I love how not only Nix but the club supports Dawson and don't give up on him as he owns up to his mistakes. I also love how Nix's sexuality is written and explained. That was a nice change from the typical gay, straight, or bi sexualities. I really love Nix and Dawson together, they were well matched. Definitely recommend.
Narrator David Allen Vargo does a marvelous job.

excellent!

I think this may have been the best Hell’s Ankhor to date. Addiction is horrible illness to deal with and Nix proved he had what it took to help Dawson! Serious chemistry, connection and communication were all integral to Nix and Dawson! Loved it! David Allen Vargo did a fantastic job with the narration!

A Terrific Performance & Emotionally Layered Ride

I am loving the performances of narrator David Allen Vargo in this series, and "Nix" is no exception. His deep, rumbly, gravely voice is divine, and makes experiencing these books in audio an added pleasure.

After some drunken outbursts at the Hell's Ankhor Motorcycle Club's bar, Dawson is assigned Nix as a chaperone while working construction on club property. Their friendship grows as a mutual attraction simmers, and with each other's support and understanding, Dawson works through personal demons while Nix explores his sexual identity. (Cheers for demisexual representation here.)

This was another terrific and emotionally layered ride with the Hell's Ankhor/Liberty Crew. "Nix" could be enjoyed as a standalone, but I'd suggest listening to "Joker" (Book 8) first to get some background on Dawson and his relationship with his boss/friend Brennan. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Another great story in an awesome series

Nix and Dawson have both had issues with addiction. - but they are at two different points in their dealings. Their relationship gets off to a rocky start when one of them has gone through the worst and is on the other side sober and the other is still in denial and struggling with how to fix his life. It will be a long journey, but there is help along the way.

Nix was in control of his sobriety and felt that he could help Dawson confront his demons and get started down the difficult path to sobriety. Having someone there for you who has been down that road and knows how difficult it is helpful. They likewise begin exploring their tentative feelings for each other, and the intense chemistry and connection more than addiction.
