Publisher's Summary

Joe Dillard is a two-million-copy best-selling series.

Three young women are found floating in a lake.

The suspect is one of the richest and most powerful men in Tennessee. Reasonable Fear is the fourth of the best-selling Joe Dillard series offered by Scott Pratt. In this tale, Dillard has become the district attorney in Northeast Tennessee. He becomes heavily involved in the investigation with Sheriff Leon Bates and soon realizes he is up against an enemy he has never before encountered - someone so rich and so powerful that the course of justice could be altered by money and political influence. But when bodies start showing up in his driveway and his family is threatened with termination, Dillard must ask himself a previously unthinkable question. His life, and the lives of his family, depend on the answer.

Critic Reviews

"Pratt's richly developed characters are vivid and believable, especially the strong Southern women who fight their male-dominated culture from behind a facade of vulnerability." (Publisher's Weekly)

Great Story.... An Entertaining Legal Thriller

I enjoy an entertaining story and this one was entertaining. The publisher's summary is a good description of this novel. Joe Dillard had a hard decision to make... to overrule his desire to be honest and law abiding so he could do what he needed to do in order to protect his family. There's a good level of suspense and tension in the story from beginning to the very end. The only compliant I have is the length.... wish it was a couple of hours longer. I like novels that are 8 to 12 hours in length or longer. But these stories are worth a buy or credit for their entertainment value. Tim Campbell's performance ability is top notch.

Scott Pratt has grabbed my attention!

Scott Pratt's books are such good legal thrillers, I guess I would call them. The fact that they are set in my home state of Tennessee just makes them that much more interesting for me! And the new book, Justice Redeemed is set in my hometown But I would enjoy them no matter what state they were set in. I have gotten very little accomplished since I have been listening to his books for the past couple of weeks and haven't been able to stop listening. I think I have only two more left in one series and I am hoping he publishes more soon!! If you are on the fence about using your credits for the Joe Dillard series or the new book, Justice Redeemed by Scott Pratt, I say go for it! I usually like to buy books that are 10 to 12 hours in length. Although these books are somewhere in the 6-1/2 to 8-1/2 hour range, I am perfectly comfortable spending my credits on them.

WOW! That was intense!

Scott Pratt writes a heck of a thriller. Reasonable Fear is Book 4 in the Joe Dillard novel series, So far all have earned 5 stars, but this is the best yet. Narration by Tim Campbell is stellar.

This novel qualifies as a legal thriller and an action thriller. For thriller lovers it is a must read.

Dillard's GOOD! Which might be his problem?

Joe Dillard's got a political problem - honesty.

Scott Pratt's got the imagination, breadth of the moment, cultural sensitivity, and craft to make me care about Joe Dillard's Tennessee world. He's as good a story teller who's at work in writing courtroom drama. And he's getting better with every book. Plus Tim Campbell's got the ability to create an entire cast where every person - including the walk-ons - fits the collective individually.

Take the normal disclaimer to heart though, start this Dillard series with "An Innocent Client" and enjoy your way here to Joe's wrestling in this book with the evil mega rich. Okay, the plot's been done before, but if we stripped the three vital chords from say, ROCK music... What fast food restaurant would be employing Justin Timberlake?

Simply put, "Reasonable Fear's" a reasonable way to spend a credit.

Best one yet

Any additional comments?

I was not a fan after reading the first book, but because I had bought all of them, I felt committed to reading them. And, I am glad I did. Pratt's books are getting progressively better, and I am enjoying them immensely. This is an audible review site, but I only listen to books when there is no other choice. I do not care for men using falsetto when reading a female's part, and someone else's inflection just isn't as good as mine--we probably all feel the same way. Audible is great when taking a long trip.

Gripping

This is book four in the Joe Dillard Series. I have enjoyed the series so far. At the end of the last book, Joe was appointed District Attorney General of six north-east Tennessee counties by the Governor.

The book is well written and is fast paced. Pratt has created an interesting and complex character in Dillard. The plot twists and turns and the suspense builds throughout the story. Pratt has masterfully weaved Dillard’s personal and professional lives together. The story grabbed my attention at the beginning and held it throughout. This book was hard to put down. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

The book is six hours and twenty-seven minutes. Tim Campbell does a good job narrating the book. Campbell is a classically trained Australian actor and opera singer. He is an Earphone Award winning audiobook narrator.

Reasonable Fear

Each book in this series does not disappoint. This one continues with life of Joe Dillard taking a different twist yet remaining consistent to his character. I can't put book down and when finished can't wait for the next.
