Pretty Good

A little slow at the start, but a good story. Has some unexpected plot twists.

Loved It

Very captivating and enjoyable to listen to. I really liked the characters and world building in this story (a lot more than I thought I would actually). Many pieces of a whole, all with their parts to play. I can't wait for the next book!

I couldn’t get into it

The story builds slowly. Very slowly. Sadly, I don’t know if it ever gets engaging. I lasted a few hours into the recording before I tapped out. The narrator is not my taste and has a fairly flat delivery that just made me zone out. The combo of a slow story and flat narration is just too much for me to get over. Maybe I’ll try again someday, but not this week. I tried some chapters 3 times already before I just gave up on getting engaged and drawn into the story.

Big World, Big Story, Only Part 1

Great variety of characters and a big interesting world. Lots of immersive description, so if that’s you’re thing, this is for you. THAT usually is not my thing, but in audiobook form, it was paced pretty well.

No spoilers… my only complaint is the ending. It’s fine, setting up for book 2, but I didn’t find it particularly satisfying.

Too many F bombs

Narrator was awesome!

Story very good and engaging.
Only thing that ABSOLUTELY ruined it was the F bombs. Absolutely NO reason for them. So disappointed.
Would love to hear an edited version. Would be sooooo much better.
