Publisher's summary

Do you ever feel like self-help gurus are lying to you?

You want a better life. You know it’s possible, but the promises you see most self-help books make just seem too good to be true, right?

“Work 4 hours a week and make millions?”

“Quit your job in six months!”

“Follow these 10 steps to become rich, famous, and everlastingly happy!

Is there a better alternative?

Is there a way to learn how to live a better life without all the extra hype, fake promises, and BS?

Real Help: An Honest Guide to Self-Improvement details the in-depth self-improvement knowledge and wisdom from Ayodeji Awosika - a self-taught three-time author, TEDx speaker, and top writer on medium.com with over 50,000 followers who helps millions of readers and listeners every year with wisdom and insights to change their life.

This book won’t guarantee any of the following:

  • You’ll make millions of dollars
  • You’ll build a life-changing business that helps you quit your job overnight
  • You’ll find perfect peace, happiness, and contentment

It will, however, teach you everything you need to know to help you:

  • Discover your life purpose (without needing an “exact match”)
  • Develop the mental toughness you need to thrive in an unfair world
  • Start your first passion project or side business (without needing to be an expert)
  • Increase dramatically your odds of living a successful life (even though this can’t be guaranteed)
  • Build life-changing habits and execute them on auto-pilot (even if you’ve tried and failed before)

This is an audiobook that tells you what you need to know, not what you want to hear. It also tells you how the world actually works, not how you think it should work.

Aren’t you tired of being told you can “succeed no matter what”? It’s almost insulting. You live in the real world. If you want to succeed in the real world, you have to understand how to be optimistic and realistic at the same time. With Real Help, you’ll get a no-holds-barred field guide to improving your life with the circumstances you’ve been given. It will help you build a tailor-made path to a successful life, based on your definition of the word.

Good bootstraps approach.

This is a good, no-nonsense approach to 'getting yourself in order'. It would benifit from some more practical, actionable advice but, overall, it's one of the better books on the subject. I would recommend it to a friend.

More realistic and to the point

This is a more straight talking self help book. If you’ve read other self-help books, there’s not too much new here. However, it is a good refresher of self-help ideas and has some more real world relevancy than most. Also, the narrator does a great job as well.

100% Correctly Titled for the brave.

This is a tome too rarely seen in or culture of coddling and excuses... which is also your road map out of your own myopic maze that you are blind to. I felt like Neo awaking from the Matrix and being welcomed to "the real".

This book is well structured, honest, refreshing and authored by someone who has conquered many a personal fear...a free man in the truest sense who can think and speak freely... and also something that will point you toward being free.

Read at your own risk:. you may have to give up failures and excuses and get used to success of you implement the author's insights.

Bravo on Real Help.

Some Truths and disappointments

The first few chapters can conjure up some feelings of disappointments. Although clear and to the point with some insight it’s not necessarily true. For example; one chapter talks about how no one is going to save you. Maybe, maybe not. Point is that the author paints a bleak and negative outlook on circumstances and people in several chapters. However, the author makes up for it in later chapters which give you suggestions and strategies to improve your life. But, there aren’t enough detailed examples to make for RealHelp. Leaves you feeling “what next”...like an incomplete sentence.

THE SELF-HELP BOOK to cure self-help junkies!

If you've read a dozen (or hundreds of) self-help books (like I have), then this book is the prescription you need to break your addiction to self-help books and start moving towards the life that all those self-help books promise. Sorry Audible, I will no longer be purchasing new self-help books each week. I'm cured and ready to live a self-improved LIFE. Thank you Ayodeji Awosika.

Real Help. Title says it all.

Listened in one day because I couldn't stop. Love the no-nonsense, get to the point, get your ass in gear with direction and without an extraordinary amount of cussing.

Honest, specific & actionable advice

Ayo provides a raw honest commentary on life and points out a lot of the bullshit we are fed. He does a great job of distilling down a lot of great advice from some of the best self-help authors. Best self-help book I've read in a long time.

Real Help, Real Talk.

I personally met Ayo the author before ever reading the book. He's an intense dude and has his life together. I purchased the book after following him on social media and trust me this book get right to the point. No sugar coating. Read this only if you want to know the truth behind big companies your own Habits, the people around you, how to realistically become financially independent and how to find your strengths. Thanks Ayojedi!
