Publisher's summary

Feelings are not meant to be pushed down or dismissed. Here’s how to make sure your kids know what to do with theirs:

If you’re like most parents, one of your primary concerns about your child, aside from their health and safety, is how you can prepare them for adulthood.

Qualities associated with emotional intelligence, are a greater predictor of future success than having a high IQ and are very often overlooked.

Fortunately, emotional intelligence is something that can be taught and developed, and the ideal time to do it is while your kids are still young.

In Raising Emotional Intelligence in Kids, you will discover:

  • How to help your child identify, understand, and make sense of their emotions when they are still too young to verbalize them well
  • Your parenting type and how you could be affecting your child’s self-esteem and outside relationships
  • The number one thing to keep in mind to keep you from losing your mind when your child is having yet another tantrum
  • Nine effective responses to misbehavior that don’t involve punishment
  • Why you should stop asking your child, “Why?", and what to ask instead to get more than a one-word response
  • The essential trait that will enable your child to face any obstacle that comes their way, even when you’re not there to help them
  • How to get your child to respond peacefully but forcefully to a bully
  • What you should never say to your child when talking about a sensitive issue
  • Easy calming exercises you can do with your child to develop mindfulness and help them deal with fluctuating emotions

And much more.

If you want to prepare your child for a successful future, not just in their career but also in their personal life and relationships, then scroll up and click the “buy” button right now.

Good listen

Great information in this book. As a new parent I found the tips in here very usefull. As society gets crazier, it’s more and more difficult to raise kids and books like this are great to have.

Creates a more success-oriented home environment.

I found that the insights being provided in this audiobook gave me a better appreciation for the interaction of my personal parenting style and my child’s emotional development. I enjoyed Chapter 4 the most as it provided many coping strategies for dealing with aggressive or defiant kids. This audiobook has helped me develop some specific parenting skills that’ll make raising a successful child easier.

This audiobook was amazing with simple answers and examples.
The audiobook goes through so much detail about what to expect and how to react in the first few years of your child's life and I think that's the most important thing a parent can have.
I’ll be buying this book for gift to give new parents.

fantastic book to help parents

I believe all parents including me have issues nurturing and raising emotional intelligence in kids since kids are so complex. For me, I have been trying to find some rules but rules don't always work if you don't understand the reasons behind it. This is an awesome book that helps understand what emotional intelligence means for kids and how you help them dealing with scenarios. This audiobook laid out a solid foundation for analysis of emotional intelligence and then go deeper from handling things such as self-esteem to how to ask questions. I learned a lot from this audiobook. Good job!

This book is an amazing gift to parents

Most parents do not get trained for parenthood. A lot of people do a lousy job at raising their kids because they don't know any better. As a result most kids have no clue how to deal with their feelings or feelings of others. This amazing book gives all parents the tools they need to help their kids learn to deal with their feelings better. I cannot emphasize how important it is for a child to learn to deal with his feelings. A kids who has learned this skill will grow up to be a more balanced adult, and we need more of those. I recommend this book to every parent (and grandparent).

Emotional intelligence is a key to future success

The author Neel did a great job as laying out the foundation to what emotional intelligence is and why it is important. I like the studies that provided to support the author claims. As parents, no one want to have a bad relationship with their children. Thus, we ourselves have to first learn to foster emotional intelligence within ourselves before trying to encourage positive behavior in them. My favorite chapter from this book is chapter 6, because Neel provided advice and tips on how to deal with various difficult situation. Would be nice if I can have this sum up in a cheat sheet of options of phrases that I can say to children when they throw tantrums under different scenarios.
