Publisher's summary

Sylvalla escapes Avondale castle and the life of a princess, in search of the adventure she’s always wanted.

Once found, adventure bites back.

Fortunately, she's not alone. Unfortunately, her new-found companions are less than heroic. Jonathan would rather make money than learn wizardry. Dirk would rather live a long and happy life than confront danger. And at 150, old Capro would rather stop gallivanting to instead harangue unsuspecting wizardry students about his glory days over a nice cup of tea.

Quest has everything - heroes, monsters, chases, escapes, and a complete lack of true love.

A celebration of adventure fantasy, Quest is a quirky and original fantasy from award-winning and USA Today best-selling author, A.J. Ponder, on behalf of Wizardly historian, F Fraderghast. Become a student of magic today, and discover the true fighter, warrior, and most un-princess-like Princess Sylvalla, as she battles for her place as a hero.

Great Self aware Fantasy series

Full Disclosure: I Narrated this series. But I narrated it because I found it & loved it. I came across the description "Quest has everything; monsters, chases, escapes and a complete lack of true love." And I reached out to A.J. Ponder about narrating it. This series is everything the grandson in the '87 Movie "The Princess Bride" wanted. There are elements of this series that strike me a bit like Terry Pratchett, but possibly closer to Douglas Adams. The whole series is ostensibly, the abridgement of the Writings of Fredegar Fredeghast (Also a definite link to William Goldman's "Abridgement" of The Princess Bride by fictitious S. Morgenstern).
There are asides frequently with commentaries by the author, or the ostensible author, brief bios of a good many characters with witticisms reflecting their more unique character traits. And for kids OR Adults who don't swoon over swooning characters - there is little to NO romance in the entire series. There's adventure, revenge, conniving villains, preposterous requirments of prophecy & a lesson to watch what you wish for, or you might just have to fulfill your own wish to the very last letter.
Sylvalla, Dirk, Capro, and a host of others were a pleasure to voice. If you enjoy fantasy with a health dose of wit, you owe it to yourself to check out this series.
Happy Listening!
