Good bundle of books following a Thief

This is a multiple story Series in 1 Bundle, I bought this on Audible.com. I listened to this bundle of the story that follows a 8 yr old child into a Organization of Thieves, assassins, pickpockets, poisioners, Grubbers, and Strong Arms.
The story is good but sad In many ways too. The trials this girl child goes through are extreme but she makes it and rises above.
I was not really impressed with the Narrator's voice, was rather piercing at times, also when Narrator was voicing her thoughts it came out rather Winny.

Excellent Series!

Amazing, powerful story of a remarkable woman who eventually becomes the queen of the Night Guild. I highly recommend this series and all of Andy Peloquin’s books in this world.

Child of the Night Guild: Queen of Thieves, Book 1
Powerful Story! The life of a child who ends up in the Night Guild is not easy. Ilanna barely survives the hardships she must endure after her father gives her to the Night Guild to settle his debts. But with the support of good friends, she not only survives...she thrives. I read the Hero of Darkness & Heirs of Destiny series before this book, and it is interesting to see how characters and organizations I am familiar with came to be who & what I know.

Thief of the Night Guild: Queen of Thieves, Book 2
Intense! Ilanna has a secret that she will do whatever it takes to protect. Including pulling off an impossible heist. Great characters and lots of action and intrigue. Not sure I’m going to like what comes next.

Queen of the Night Guild: Queen of Thieves, Book 3
Wow! Non-stop, heart pounding action that just never seems to stop. After pulling off a legendary heist, Ilanna must work to save the Night Guild from the Bloody Hand and the Duke’s justice while trying to avoid death at the hands of the Bloody Hand, the Duke, and the Night Guild. Both heart warming and gut wrenching, this story will take your emotions on a ride and keep you enthralled long past when you should be doing something else.

One of the best fantasy trilogies of the new teens

THE QUEEN OF THIEVES series follows Illana from her status as a young girl sold by her father to cover his debts to her rise to become the greatest thief of the Night Guild. The Night Guild is a Dungeons and Dragons-esque Thieves Guild that wields all the power in its home city but for their archenemy in the Duke and his Thief-finders. Poor Illana goes through the ringer as she's subjected to numerous brutal lessons in the unfairness and cruelty of the world. She loses friends left and right and suffers indignities that go unpunished because the Night Guild is, well, a bunch of criminals. Illana eventually learns to play the game and possibly how to turn the tables on her former masters but has the problem of knowing no other life besides being a criminal (and her few friends are also thieves).

Andy Peloquin does a great job establishing Illana's character and how things are making a previously optimistic child into a hardened woman. Illana rolls with the punches and becomes an exceptional thief that would make Hans Gruber proud but he doesn't avoid showing her flaws. Illana's bitterness, anger, and arrogance get her into a lot of trouble. While she does some unlikable things, she never loses the reader's sympathy and you want her to achieve her impossible dream of getting free of the Night Guild. She's also a rare bi heroine in fantasy, though her romances tend to be tragic.

Overall, this is a fantastic trilogy of books and it's best to buy the collection rather than a single individual book. The narrator does a fantastic job as well.

Grips you like a hawk.

I'm so glad I stuck with this story. More so that I took the time to listen to the set. I have spent some very late nights in the grip of this adventure. The trials are brutal, and it pulls no punches. In some respects the heroine is hard to like but steathily you find yourself coming to admire and respect her. The narration only gets better as the story progresses, and by the finish you are a little sad to leave this world.

Haunting and gripping.

Although this story is dark the narrator does an excellent job with the sensitive nature that involves in some parts of this book. I enjoyed the book. The audio version is excellent. The narrator does a wonderful job with the voices and accents.
She makes it very easy to imagine the characters with her voice. As Ilanna and characters age, the narrator is sure to change up the voices along with their age.
