Publisher's summary

Overpowered villains. Higher stakes. A pyramid of lies.

A year has passed since the events that nearly brought the game, Carpe Noctem, crashing down. Now, just as things are beginning to get back to normal, a new threat emerges.

When an unkillable player attempts to take over the virtual world, Max and Kira are called in to take him down. To win, the party will have to form their own house, infiltrate a tropical palace, pull off an elaborate heist, and maybe do a little dancing.

With enemies old and new lurking around every corner, it will take every bit of teamwork and creativity the party has to get away clean. Because in this game of PVP, their lives may depend on it.

Even better than the first one

this book was better than first. which is something I find rarely happens. while enjoyed the first one there just didn't seem to be a sense of danger and peril as they fought the 4 horseman, (except death lol) u just felt like it was dnd game and they would win somehow. this would felt like the stakes where real. I love the new character and charm of the villain. I loved the tie in to the first book, and the general concept was so much fun. I even love how some questions where answered, but then u where left with more. I have hope for the next book. cant wait

Just as enjoyable as the first one!

Really enjoying the series and excited to see where it is next going! it was fun seeing a heist plot in a video game mostly with guys that are completely clueless and probably would react exactly as I would in a heist! Will definitely be reading the next one!

Great Follow Up

I was a bit apprehensive about grabbing this book as there was a narrator change between my purchase of the first book and this one. Needless to say no was able to get over the change and thoroughly enjoyed this sequel!

Although the type of adventure changed from dungeon crawl to heist it made sense in the realm of the books and the characters stayed true to their characterizations from the first book. I'm very excited to see the revenge plot play out!

The great heist

Max and Kira are only vaguely aware of what is going on in the social aspect of Noctum. They had heard that a new house is conquering cities, but it didn't really apply to them. When they find out that the House of Serpents has been stripping away everything from those areas into their conquest, it becomes a bit more real. When they find out how profitable it could be, they are in. Now they need to get in and steal it all!

This is one of my favorite LitRPG series! It has such well written characters and story is light hearted even when the stakes are high. I can not recommend this book highly enough.

Sequel measures up!

Great 2nd installment in this series! Everything meshes together so nicely; the story line, the character arcs, the main character group development and new characters, new environments in the world, just amazing immersive work! I pre-ordered the next installment same day I finished pyramid game.

Still a great story.

The stakes have been upped. Everything great about the first book continues, my main annoyance is still that the author doesn't have a clue about how much money should be involved with a system like Noctum.

I can’t wait for the next one!

Another winner! I always enjoy the snarky commentary perforated by Puns and Dad jokes. So much fun.

Just as good as the first!

I would recommend this to anyone who reads the litrpg genre! Even from the first book I love the idea of going to sleep but really you’re playing a game. This story beginning to the end was well written and Max is still a bad*** with a new item!

I need moar!

It has a excellent character development, story, friendship, and comedy. The battle scenes are vivid and world setting is very creative. The ending for the first two books has been great.
