Publisher's Summary

In a dark world where humans are little more than fodder for vampires, Caleb is looking for a break...even if that break means he has to become Liam's plaything. When he gives up his freedom, Caleb's training begins. Will obedience and pleasure go hand in hand in his new life as Liam's puppy?

This peek into the Fate of the Fallen/Status Quo world is a stand-alone out of the time line of both series. This book contains puppy play. I consider it "playful dark erotica".

A good beginning

When Liam finds a human with exceptional taste he decides its time for a pet. Caleb has no idea he’d enjoy being a puppy.

A brilliant start to something that both men are just understanding together.

Well written and excellent narration!

Best start for an amazing series. In this book there is everything I love the most in a dark romance book. Puppy play is one of my fave kink so I was really excited about this story, and I can't wait to listen to the next one right now *^*

Puppy

Liam has taken Caleb as his puppy in this delicious twisted tale. In a world run by supes humans don't have much choice. R. Phoenix has created a dark world you just can't get enough of. I love this story.

Narration was okay. This narrator sounds young? I don't know - his voice was almost to nice for this dark world, but tempo was good and you could keep track of the characters so overall no issues.

Highly recommend this book, looking forward to rest of the series.

Puppy

Thank you for audio code, I voluntarily give this a honest review. as a human Caleb was either food or play for the vampires. in this dark world Liam will be his master, training him as a pet but the kinky side to Caleb loves the puppy play style only who really is the master between Liam and Caleb? loved loved this book, the narrator did a an ok job of brings Liam and Caleb to life.

Bit short

Cool and quirky but a bit too quick vampire story.
Quick and easy enjoyable listen.

very short, yet interesting

Caleb, a human, wants a break from the life he is forced to live because of the vampires. Vampires have made all humans their slaves. Caleb even is willing to become a plaything, Liam's plaything.

I felt that this was more of a tease for what is to come. I would have liked to know more about Caleb and Liam or even more about the world they lived in. This story is definitely sci fi, but it is really interesting. It was a great introduction to the series.

A perfect blend of story and narration.

I love how this story unfolds. It gives you a look at the world created as you get to know the characters. Still think Liam needs a little work but I can see if he gets it right, this being a good fit for both. Maybe a little help is in order.😉

PUPPY

It is very entertaining with a great story and narrator. It was short enough that I was able to listen in one sitting

A Satisfying, Sexy Listen

This was my first foray into puppy play books, and I found it thoroughly enjoyable.

Author R. Phoenix does an excellent job of creating and describing this alternate world where humans no longer rule. Well written and captivating, with a very satisfying conclusion.

The narrator also does a very good job and moves the story and action along at a nice pace.

Overall, this was a fun, sexy listen, and I look forward to hearing more of this author's audiobooks.

Leaves you wanting just a bit more.

Okay so this is a short paranormal story (which was great for my car journeys) where humans are now at the low end of the class system. Caleb, thought he was protected but is found, Liam is a vampire who finds Caleb and after a taste finds his blood intoxicating and decides to keep Caleb as a puppy.
I enjoyed this story and really wish there was more.
Here is the ‘but’ part of the review, I really did not like the narrator, he sounded like he had a blocked nose and his accent for Liam sounded like a certain Austrian actor with the catchphrase of “I’ll be Back” it totally put me off..
I will probably go and read the book to get my own voices for when I read the next one in the series..

Puppy

I liked the story right from the start, even though the world is not fully explained you quickly learn that humans are no longer the top of the food chain. They are food, or pets, if they are lucky.

Enjoyable story

Liam a 500 yr old vampire goes into the slums and finds Caleb a human who tries to kill him. Liam decides he would like to keep him as a pet and makes him pretend to be a puppy. Short and cute. 1st time narrator for me I found it sounded more like he was reading then performing but that is just my opinion
