Publisher's summary
When Bree Warren goes out for a night on the town with her best friend, she never expects to run into the man she's dreamt of for the past 10 years. The nightmare has haunted her sleep for so long. The startled look of recognition in the stranger's eyes is even more unexpected.
What happens next will throw these two people together in ways they never imagined. Suddenly, they're both targets, hiding from a mysterious group bent on killing them and thrown into a war between two centuries-old factions.
The more they learn, the more questions they have. Neither of them asked for this, but fate seems to have other plans for them. The only way to survive is together.

Can't wait for Book 2! Warning-cliffhanger
Provenance, Book 1 in the Praetorian Saga by Mary M. Wallace was great! Warning...it does end in a cliffhanger and as of this review, the other books aren't available on Audible. Okay, back to the review. Bree and Declan have been dreaming about each other for the past ten years, though they've never met. All that they know is that their dreams almost always end up with their death by the same person, in the same abandoned hotel room. Well, the time finally comes where they meet in real life. What follows is a whirlwind adventure where they learn that their entire being is more than they ever knew. They're Praetorians, and they have a mortal enemy that is hellbent on destroying them.
This was a really enjoyable, fast-paced story that ultimately leaves you hanging at the end, though the backstory and setting and character development are perfectly in place and I can't wait to listen to/read the next book in the saga! If you don't mind a cliffhanger, then I'd definitely recommend a listen!
Scarlett Mayson did a great job narrating this book. She had unique voices for the characters and added life to the story. I'll happily listen to more books narrated by her in the future! Good Beginning
This is an intriguing story that kept me engaged from start to finish. I like how the characters abilities are portrayed. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the story to life. There is a cliffhanger ending that definitely left me wanting to know more.

Great story but cliffhanger!
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
From the first sentence, I knew I would love this book. It was fast paced and no really boring parts. One spot had me blushing but I guess it was to be expected as this book is more geared toward an older YA audience.
I got very invested into the relationship between Jon and Rylee. I really want to see what happens between them in the future. The idea of this being a supernatural book but not really an in-your-face supernatural book was a great premise by the author. I didn't even realize that is what it was until pretty far into it.
The narrator was amazing. She didn't try too hard so that it threw you off but she also was good at the emotions portrayed by the characters. I will be looking for book 2 now!

LOVED IT!!
Everything about this book is amazing. I had already fallen in love with the series when I read them in ebook format, and the audio version didn't disappoint at all! The narrator brought all of the characters to life perfectly and the storyline was just as exciting as ever! This series keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire thing! I loved every minute of it! I started listening 2 days ago and I'm already finished with the entire thing. This book is binge-worthy and I cannot wait for the next one! 5 out of 5 stars! LOVED IT!

This story turns exciting
Just when I was starting to get bored and thought the book was a bit too mushy for my taste the excitement begins and holds you to the very end. Didn’t want the book to end yet.

No real ending
I know this won't bother many people but it bugged me. After nearly an 8 hour listen, I think I deserved some sort of story end before it segued into the next book. This book just teed up but never delivered on a complete story.
Don't get me wrong, the story line was incredibly intriguing and I was hooked right out the gate. The two main characters, though babes-in-the-woods, were immediately likeable and root-for worthy. One (and a half) showdowns later, we are left with more questions and no real answers.
I did like the narration but I was so disappointed with this book and it's lack that I may be one and done.

Wow!
So, I start listening to this book around 9pm and I am immediately hooked! From minute one... hooked. Next thing I know, it's 2:30 in the morning! I only have a couple of chapters left but, unfortunately, I have to sleep. So my dreams were pretty intense and I'm sure related to the book. All day I was thinking about when I get to start listening again... I finally get to finish and all I can say is that I want more!
The narrator was awesome. I loved her. She really pulled me into the story which is sometimes not always the case.
I absolutely recommend this book. It's fast paced and interesting. 10 out of 10.
