Money is my mistress.

Solving problems, my trade.

Until the tables turn, and trouble finds me.

Now on the run, I need a plan.

But not before I’m blindsided by a pain-in-the-ass stranger.

Maggie.

Curves, startling blue eyes, and she hates me.

I don’t trust her, and with good reason.

My plan is simple: use her.

Then I kiss her. Touch her. Crave her.

She was my way out; now she’s my downfall.

Loved this book!

First, the narration and story telling were top-notch. I was drawn in right from the start. Nick and Maggie are people thrown together by coincidence, but they must rely on each other to survive the dangers of the underworld. In the Canadian backdrop, the story unfolds as their mutual distrust grows into something else. This was a great listen and I will definitely seek out other books from this gifted story teller.

Wow! What a great book.

I truly enjoyed this book, the mystery and suspense had me hooked from the start.
Standalone with no Cliffhangers.
She is alone in life with just her friends, she is strong but struggles with demons from her past.
He is a leader but ready to walk away from his life of crime.
Then they are thrown together and the adventure begins.
A bad deal has a LOT of bad guys after him and she is his captive, or is she.
There is betrayal, heat, friendship, love and so much more in this book.

Crossed Paths

I enjoyed this book so much! It's a bit dirty, dark, and gritty but that's part of what I like about it. There's plenty of action and the pasts of both Nick and Maggie play integral roles with how things play out.

I really like how Maggie stuck to her guns, even when it was unknowingly against her own best interests. As for Nick, he keeps things VERY close to the vest, struggling to let anyone in, including his family and best friends. It makes those tender moments even more special.

I love that there are interactions with Kit and Caro, who get their turn at the spotlight in the next book of the series. (Yes, I read / listened to them out of order. It was fine. There are some spoilers when doing it that way but nothing to prevent you from enjoying the books no matter the order.)

Speaking of listening, I had the pleasure of listening and reading this book. I liked both narrators - Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood.

Please note that there are some trigger warnings to heed. Organized crime and the messy business that often accompanies it is present, including physical assault and the threat of sexual assault.

Great story!

Story pulls you in from the start. Nick finally believes he is out of the business until a deal gone wrong has him on the run for his life. When a mix-up finds him and Maggie staying at a friends house, he is instantly suspicious that she's sent to kill him. When trouble comes looking for him, Maggie is in the wrong place at the wrong time, leaving Nick no choice but to kidnap her to save her life. As they run for their lives, Nick and Maggie's attraction towards one another is too much to ignore and ultimately find their HEA.

Jason Clark and Savannah Peachwood did and awesome job narrating Nick and Maggie's story.

Dark Mafia Romance

The storyline was good. You could feel the two MC being drawn to each other in this enemies to lovers/forced proximity romance. So much angst in this story! Also some situations that may be triggers for some readers/listeners.

Terrific narration by Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood. The voice actors were stellar in portraying the main and secondary characters.

Intense Ride!

Prophet by S.M. West is a wild ride with multiple twists and turns. Just when you think you have one part figured out, something else happens! Nick and Maggie meet by chance or do they. On the run from some violent people, Maggie has to truly figure out if she can trust Nick. Sparks fly when these two get together, and they attraction is undeniable. I was hooked from the start!

Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood narrate this audiobook. Jason is amazing! I love all of his character voices. You never have to guess who is talking, he is that good! Savannah's portrayal of Maggie is emotional and deep. She connected with her in so many ways.

I enjoyed this romantic suspense book, and I am looking forward to listening to more from S.M. West!

Excellent narration, entertaining story

In the last month, I've listened to two drastically different stories by S.M. West—a new author for me—and I had to check Goodreads to see if it was the same S. M West. I loved both the stories and the choice in narrators. I feel guilty that I let this one slip so far down my to-listen pile. It got lost in the shuffle when I added too many to my library at the same time, so when I finally opened it up and saw Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood as the narrators it was a fantastic surprise. They're two of my absolute favorite narrators and they did an excellent job with the Audible version of Prophet. I would definitely recommend listening to this story over reading it.

I often avoid stories with the protagonist involved in organized crime because it's tough to resolve how one person can both disregard human life in some cases yet claim to revere it in others. That being said, I'm not opposed to reading about offing bad guys or non-violent crime. S.M. West did a good job keeping Nick's more offensive actions in the past and providing an explanation of how he got to be where he is now. I would recommend this book to romantic suspense listeners and to Jason Clarke/Savannah Peachwood fans.

Exciting!

With a storyline that is gripping and well fleshed out characters, Prophet held my attention and provided a listen that was compelling and engaging. Jason Clarke is a fabulous narrator, one whose richness of voice immediately draws me into the narrative. He modulates his voice well, creating atmosphere that draws pictures in your mind's eye, whole allowing you to be pulled along with the story. Savannah Peachwood has a lovely voice, though at times, she tended to use volume for emphasis in a manner that threw my focus. Prophet has been a pleasure to listen to 💖💖💖💖💖💖

Enemies To Lovers

Prophet by S.M. West is an enemies to lovers romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood.

This is the first book of Suzanne’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I loved the chemistry between Nick & Maggie. Suzanne did a great job pulling me in from the first chapter and kept me guessing on how the story was going to end.

Jason and Savannah did a great job on the narration. I loved the Dual Narration it really brings the story to life.

I would recommend this book if you love enemies-to-lovers romance or romantic suspense.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧Captivating & Intense!

This is a fantastic enemies to lovers romance, S.M. West is a gifted author and it is great to see another side of her creative mind, a darker side. I enjoy her writing style, her storylines are interesting and original. The book grabbed my attention right from the start and hold it straight to the end. The characters are complex and well developed, they are realistic and easy to connect with. Nick Prophet is one badass, he works in the underworld doing jobs for some bad people. He was working his last job when he was double crossed. He gets to a safe place to buy some time to find out what is going on. It was supposed to be an unoccupied apartment but when he gets there he finds a female in the shower. Maggie needed a place to stay so she asked her friend to use her apartment while she was away. Not knowing Nick was told he could use the apartment too. She leaves, telling Nick he better be out by tomorrow, she returns and then all hell breaks loose. I loved how everything plays out in this book, also love how Maggie stood up to Nick, even with her vulnerabilities she is as much of a badass as he is and she proves that several times, especially near the end, in an epic scene. This book is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, action, some mind-blowing twists and turns, thrilling suspense that will take you to the edge of your seat and some hot romance. S.M. West thank you for another fantastic story and a thrilling & emotional rollercoaster ride.

Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They bring these characters to life, give each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. They both did a great job portraying the characters, Jason Clarke truly grasped Prophet’s persona, a bad ass alpha and Savannah Peachwood’s Maggie was spot on as well, she presented both her vulnerability and her strength. The set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters emotions which is reflected in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen🎧

Five Stars

This story was excitement from the very beginning. Enemies to lovers with plenty of intrigue and suspense. For me, although there was a kidnapping and a lot of bad guys I did not find to be too dark. Jason Clarke with his growly voice was just perfect as Nick who is part criminal, part softy, mostly sexy. Savannah Peachwood has such a sweet voice and did a great job as Maggie who is both an auto mechanic and a beautiful, confident, tough woman.

This is one of those books that I was sad when it was over. I was really enjoying it and wanted more. That is not to say the story wasn't complete. I just really wanted to live in that world a little more.
