Publisher's Summary

Brian King was honorably discharged from the United States Navy five years ago. He'd left with the highest honors a man can receive in his country, but he'd paid the ultimate price to earn them. He'd returned home with all his limbs, his right mind, and with his only brother Ford, at his side. But, one thing had been lost, maybe for good...his voice.

Now, being a bounty hunter is Brian's only means to satisfy his need to calculate, track, and capture. He missed companionship, he missed communicating. So, when he met Sway Hamilton - in the most unconventional means - he'd been surprised at his special way of understanding Brian's every look...and touch.

Sway grew up in the rough part of ATL, trailing behind his twin brother Stanton and his best friend, Dana. He and his brother had a bond only twins could understand. So when Stanton's life was taken during their sophomore year in college, Sway didn't think he'd ever recover. However, Sway knew there was more to life than heartache.

Sway has to learn to trust in love, and Brian has to believe that Sway will always understand him even if he never speaks again.

Contains mature themes.

A riveting listen.

The combination of A.E. Via’s writing and Aiden Snow’s narration makes for a brilliant listening experience. The story had so much heart and action that I didn’t want to pause it. Aiden’s deep gravelly voice is a perfect match for these characters.Highly Recommended.

Brian and Sway, finally!!

book 4, just as great as the rest of the books in the series. Love Brian and Sway. Aiden Snows voice, there is NOTHING BETTER. to hear the smoking hot Sex scenes in his voice, hot, HOT, HoT….. Hopefully, there will be more awesome books to come. A. E. Via, I Love your writing. I also like the slight cross over with God and his team, bring on more of them too.. This audio book is well worth the credit and your time to listen......

Swoon Worthy!

I couldn’t wait to listen to Brian’s book. It didn’t disappoint. I loved everything about this book, especially the last couple of chapters. Picturing Brian in his uniform made my day! The narration was wonderful as usual.

Fantastic!

This is book 4 in the series, and actually my favorite. A.E. Via does a fantastic job at character development. The story is full of action, excitement and is thoroughly enjoyable. Brian is mute after horrific things happen to him as a POW. His flashbacks, panic attacks and strength of character are so real and vivid. His internal monologue is such a stark contrast to what the real world sees of him- 6’ 3” kick ass ex spy/military bounty hunter with a lonely and unsure heart. Via does a great job painting all veterans with dignity and hope. Sway is gorgeous, kind, sweet, nurturing- but with a backbone and grit. The two are a fantastic fit- both being alone for years and both having their own brand of heartache. The story, as all the others in this series do, focuses on the couple but has a healthy dose of the camaraderie and family that is Duke’s Bail Bonds woven in. Aiden Snow does an exceptional job here distinguishing when Brian is signing, thinking, talking with a text to speech app, and through his brothers interpretation. As an audiobook listener, this is extremely important for this particular book. He excels in making the spicy scenes amazing also. If you like M/M romance with a ton of testosterone and action, I recommend this book!

Kind of a disappointment...

I feel like I had been waiting for Brian’s story the entire series and maybe that’s why I ended up so disappointed in this one. While there are differing amounts of angst in each part of the Promises series, this one had angst overload. I was pumped for Brian and Sway’s story from the tidbits we got in Part 3, but it felt almost forced for most of the book. Sway wasn’t a terribly like-able character to me. I felt like with as much as Brian had been through in his life, he deserved someone who wasn’t as wishy-washy as Sway. From the beginning, you could feel how invested Brian was in Sway and Sway didn’t seem to reciprocate to the same extent. I guess I was hoping that their connection from Part 3 would carry on into Part 4 and make this book one big smooch fest with flowery happy endings everywhere, but I just wasn’t feeling it. In fact, I quit listening 95% of the way through and don’t really have any intentions of finishing the last 5%. From reading the reviews on Part 5 and the religious integration into the storyline, I decided to call it quits on the series. Aiden Snow is amazing, though, and I’ll be listening to some of the Nothing Special series just to get my fix.

Unbelievably good!

Story: oh how I was waiting for Brian's story! By far the most fascinating character from the bunch and the most amazing love story! The connection, the trust and the understanding! AE Via is a master in creating complicated characters and making me fall in love with them! It was an emotional feast and a book I will definitely be revisiting time and time again!
Narration: perfect. Just perfect!

Again a great audiobook with my favourite narrator

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Aiden Snow is one of the top 5 narrators (so far) for me to follow and I hope to get a lot more books from him. And really, his SEXY and DEEP RUMBLING VOICE is something you DON'T want to miss!!
I'm just not yet finish with the book, just over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

The best book in the series so far...

Promises book 4 is the best book in the series so far!

The relationship between Brian and Sway is my favourite, book 2 Roman and Cayson has been pushed to 2nd place although Book 2's story is the best of the four.

The Nothing Special series is still my favourite, written later than Promises, A.E. Via's story telling and the characters are much more "solid". However both series are an absolute delight to listen to over and over. ( Had I bought these as paperbacks they would be worn out by now ).

Happy that both series have retained the narration by Aiden Snow. His voice and A.E. Via's writing and characters are the PERFECT match!
