Publisher's Summary

Grieving is a highly personal experience and reactions differ from person to person. Feelings of loss are arguably the most unique, confusing feelings with which to cope. Therapist and grief expert, Stephanie Jose, understands this. She created Progressing Through Grief as an interactive resource to gently meet you wherever you are today, as you move through your grief and toward healing. Stephanie has spent countless hours working with grieving clients, and she saw the need for a resource that would address the various feelings of grief that occur at any stage of the process.

Twenty years ago, Stephanie Jose became well acquainted with grief when she suddenly lost her friend. She has experienced first-hand many of the same feelings as her patients. Progressing Through Grief provides practical methods for coping with immediate feelings of loss, as well as the difficult emotions that can persist over time.

Progressing Through Grief is divided into three sections, each focusing on key factors that create a powerful process for healing:

  • Understanding why grieving is important, and how grief affects your body
  • Identifying complicated feelings and learning skills for coping with them
  • Journaling to move through overwhelming feelings and practicing self-care through relaxation techniques, nutrition tips, and meditation practices

Designed to be a companion as you courageously confront and process your feelings, Progressing Through Grief is intended to help you progress through your grief and into healing.

phenomenal book, truly helpful

I've read multiple books trying to find an on point and useful bit of information. this book gave me more than I expected to find in one book. the narrator had a pleasant voice with an excellent pace and inflection. the author was thoughtful in referencing the many sources of grief, not just one type of loss. I'll be looking for more books by this author and am planning to read/listen to this one again.

Valuable Content

First, it's included in your Prime membership. So, there's really no excuse for passing it up.

Second, the content is extremely valuable in that it educates the reader on the aspects of grief and provides detailed steps for handling/processing grief.

I didn't see the downloadable pdf with this title, but I'm pretty sure the narrator reads through the content of the downloadable pdf at the end of the book. My understanding is that the content contains prompts for your grief/emotion journal.

I would've paid a credit for this book.

Can't handle the Narrator

The content might be good but I only got halfway through the first chapter. She sounds like one of those pharmaceutical ads where they list all the side effects while puppies run through the grass. Couldn't take the voice.

Finally... understood my mixed feelings.

I didn't even know if I was going through grief until I read this book. My case wasn't directly caused by someone's death but I felt like it was a similar case. This book described all the emotions I have felt... I was underlining almost every sentence in the book. I cannot thank enough to the author. I cried from the beginning to the end of the book with relief.
