Fern makes Snow feel things he’s never felt before. Feeling butterflies in his stomach was something Snow thought he’d never feel until Fern made that myth a reality.

When Fern first meets Prince Snow she hates the flashy playboy on sight because he reminds her of her adulterous father. But as Fern travels north through Fantasia with the prince and his allies (which include the eccentric seer Baba Yaga) her feelings for Snow begin to change as she discovers that behind his ostentatious personality is a kind man.

In Fantasia, a prince is destined to marry a princess, however. Will true love conquer all, or will Fern and Snow remain prisoners of their fate?

great story

I enjoyed this twisted fantasy journey. I found it unique and entertaining. Many of my childhood fairytale characters are reincarnated into different persona and I found that intriguing. The gender twists gave an inticing edge to the storyline that I enjoyed. The end had me on tenterhooks!!! Great conclusion. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Loved this book!

Though Snow was often a bit too pouty and the performers interpretations of a battle cry made me giggle every time (reminds me of a little kid, too funny!), I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I can't wait for more!

I loved this book.

This series is fun and adventurous and very hard to put down. The narration was really good and I'm always excited to hear when a new story is out. The twists in this series make it so much better than you would think when you first start.

KuroKoneko Kamen has written another entertaining adventure for this final book in the Genderbent Fairytales series. I've thoroughly enjoyed each title - the world building's been delightful, the descriptions vividly colourful and the switch-up of character genders well thought out. Overall an entertaining series for anyone who enjoys a twist to their fairy tales. 👍

📖 Story comment: Prince Snow and the Huntress is a fairly straight forward, easy listen. The plot has good pace and flows along nicely, Snow and his friends are likeable characters, and their adventure was entertaining. As enjoyable as I found it, the writing wasn't as sharp and on point as the last couple of books and I felt it was a little long at about the three quarter mark. I did enjoy the extra insight into the "villan" of the story at the end though.

🎧 Narrator comment: The change in narrator was a surprise, and I imagine it's hard to come into a series with already established characters and make them your own. I found C. Ridgeways interpretation of some of the characters interesting, and I was instantly delighted with his accent. I enjoyed his narration for the most part and think he has great potential as a narrator. He suited the characters, has good distinction between character voices, and it didn't sound like the story was just "being read", which is always a good thing.

If I'm being nit-picky constructive (not critical) of the narration, There were a couple of editing issues (a duplicated line or two), but they weren't significant enough to ruin the story. I needed to nudge the narration speed up a fraction (1.2 or 1.3) to help "build the tension and action" of the story. For me, the natural narration speed was just a little slow for the feel of the story. There were also times when the narration felt stilted and the dialog a little 'breathy' but 17 hours is a mammoth undertaking for any narrator, and overall I think he's done a very good job bringing Prince Snow and the Huntress to life, I look forward to more from him in the future.

loved every bit!

these genderbent fairytales are wonderful! after watching snow in the other books it was so fun to meet his true love and join them on their journey to find love and stop the evil! I highly recommend this book!!

Another amazing spin on a classic story

I really enjoy these and the way the author spins the characters to give them a more adult view. The characters always have just enough to tie them into their childhood story but sound and seem more adult fantasy fiction. I strongly recommend you give one of the stories from this collection a listen. I haven't listened to one yet that has disappointed me. 5 stars

Enchanting!

Prince Snow and the Huntress is a delightful tale that bends the gender of every character in a witty and clever way. Snow has become the target of King Reginald who sits in front of his mirror each day and asks who the handsomest man in the land is, and she makes the mistake of telling him that he used to be, but now it's Snow! The Prince is an interesting character...charming, irreverent and downright maddening when he becomes the arrogant twit who is only interested in bedding women. It's all because he doesn't know what love is and is easily led astray by beautiful women and their feminine wiles. Fern, the Huntress, comes across Snow as he's escaping Reginald's army of inquisitors, and she is the one who has the skills and the fortitude to keep saving his life. All of the expected characters are there and I can't help but laugh at their antics or scowl at how devious they are. One of the best parts is the descriptions of the "other kingdoms" that exist and the people who live there. Reggie's description of Earth was funny, sad, truthful and thought provoking. This is wonderfully narrated by C. Ridgeway with a dynamic, clear voice and delightful accent!
