In a world of manners and matrimony, one man's secret could upend all

Longbourn is abuzz with the arrival of Mr. Collins, a clergyman who will one day inherit the estate. But his true intention—to secure a wife—is complicated by a hidden identity: he is the secret author of popular romance novels. His sights are set on the beautiful Jane Bennet, whose gentle nature and family obligations make her the perfect target.

Elizabeth, ever protective of her sister, senses that something is amiss with Mr. Collins. Her suspicions lead her on a path of discovery, drawing the attention of wealthy, reserved Mr. Darcy. As Elizabeth delves deeper, she finds herself caught between uncovering the truth and a growing affection for a man who she knows is unattainable.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is in Hertfordshire on an errand for his aunt, nothing more. The last thing he wants is to fall in love. But when he encounters lovely, intriguing Elizabeth Bennet, Darcy’s carefully constructed defenses begin to crumble. As he becomes entangled in the mystery surrounding Mr. Collins, Darcy must decide who he can trust. Should he risk his heart in a world where appearances can be deceiving?

Laura Hile's Pretty in Print is a joyous Regency romp, blending your friends from Pride and Prejudice with a lighthearted mystery. Be swept away into a world of secrets, romance, and the so-called power of the written word.

Frost is always an impeccable narrator. I've read a couple titles now from this author. They're good and worth a listen; however for me, I wouldn't relisten to the book. At various times, it's quite good with interesting premises and then lacking.

Great narration

This is another sweet story from Laura Hile, in which we are treated to the amusing introduction of Mr. Collins as a romance novelist. Collins, believing himself to be a gifted writer, has been driven by monetary needs to publish romance novels. Thanks to the questionable literary tastes of silly girls like Kitty and Lydia Bennet, he has become successful. More discerning readers find his flowery prose ridiculous. Chaos ensues with misunderstandings and mismatched attempts at matchmaking, leading to a happy conclusion for Elizabeth and Jane. The book is brought to life by the truly gifted Harry Frost, who adds colorful vocal nuances and emotions to each character. It’s a delightful, entertaining listen.

I love listening to Harry Frost narrating a pride and prejudice fan fiction story. He does great voices for different characters. This one was a great romp. Great Jaff.

Great book

Everyone fell in love way too quickly and decided to get married way too quickly. There was no chemistry between Elizabeth and Darcy. There was more chemistry between Jane and Bingley.

Entertaining but silly
