Lee Child says it’s “stunning… certain to be a book of the year.”

Kathy Reichs calls it “extraordinary… a major achievement.”

Sisters. Strangers. Survivors.

More than twenty years ago, Claire and Lydia’s teenaged sister Julia vanished without a trace. The two women have not spoken since, and now their lives could not be more different. Claire is the glamorous trophy wife of an Atlanta millionaire. Lydia, a single mother, dates an ex-con and struggles to make ends meet. But neither has recovered from the horror and heartbreak of their shared loss—a devastating wound that's cruelly ripped open when Claire's husband is killed.

The disappearance of a teenage girl and the murder of a middle-aged man, almost a quarter-century apart: what could connect them? Forming a wary truce, the surviving sisters look to the past to find the truth, unearthing the secrets that destroyed their family all those years ago . . . and uncovering the possibility of redemption, and revenge, where they least expect it.

Powerful, poignant, and utterly gripping, packed with indelible characters and unforgettable twists, Pretty Girls is a masterful novel from one of the finest writers working today.

Great Story... when I heard it years ago! I thought it sounded really familiar the first 2 chapters, then I was sure I heard this one for sure by middle! it was offered for resale as a NEW book

I've loved Karen Slaughter books for years but this one just blows the others right out of the water. I stayed up until 5 am because I just couldn't turn it off. The story, the narration, the characters, it just has it all. This is one of those books that stays with you long after you've finished it. Definitely a must listen.

One of the best books I've ever read

Disclaimer: there are very detailed and gruesome aspects to the storyline at times. That aside, what a fantastic, grizzly thriller on every level.

Epic

This book must be a rewrite or something. From the beginning I knew I had read it before. A ripoff to advertise it as a new book.

Ok, but not new

I wish she could write books faster because I would listen to them all the time. This one does not disappoint.

Amazing!!!

OK, hear me out. I adore Karin’s books! Listening to Kathleen Early read them made me fall in love with audiobooks. The two of them together are fantastic. Throughout this book, I kept feeling like I had read it before. I could almost predict what was going to happen next. It was as if pieces were taken from previous books and put together to create this one. Everything that happened, every twist and turn, I could remember Lena, Faith, or Sarah running into an extremely similar situation. The thing I love about Karin’s books is that I don’t usually expect the twists and turns. This one, I feel like I solved midway through. Still great, she’s always great. As is Kathleen, just more predictable than her previous books.

I’m Slaughter Stan but this one was predictable

WARNING: This book was published in 2015!! For some reason audible placed it on its new releases list this week and made it appear as brand new - no reviews, etc. I thought it sounded familiar but I “read” approx 10 books a month and they tend to all run together after a while. I assumed since it was a new release with no reviews I could trust that I hadn’t read it and the title was just similar to something I read in the past. Less than two chapters in and I just KNEW I had already read the book. A quick Google search told me the book was published more than a DECADE AGO!! Now I get to play, “fight for my credit back” with audible so that’s SUPER ANNOYING. I don’t understand how they can do that without noting this fact anywhere in the description. It’s incredibly deceptive!!

If you didn’t read the book when it was published ten years ago - def give it a listen. The story is really good — just not worth paying twice to remember you’ve already read it!!!

I love most books by Karin Slaughter but this one was incredibly heavy handed. It could have been significantly shorter without taking anything away from the story line. The father's perspective really did not add anything of value to the story, other than to underline the loss which was already talked about on every other page by every other character constantly. The subject matter was incredibly brutal, the plot absolutely absurd, the emotional impact on the characters repeated over and over again. Kathleen Early is an incredible narrator. But I don't recommend wasting your time or a credit.

Intense and heavy handed

I was wrongly charged for a book I read before. I listen to books constantly and cannot afford to WASTE a credit on something I ALREADY read. You changed things to present as new. NOT FAIR AUDIBLE!!! I thought you were more reputable than this. If it's a mistake, give me back my credit and I will retract a TRUTHFUL RATING or I will say you resolved immediately once discovered.

I read it before!
