Publisher's summary

This time it’s personal.

“Make some coffee. You’ll read all night.” (Lee Child)

FBI Special Agent Kim Otto receives a kidnapper’s cryptic message in the middle of the night. The Hunt for Jack Reacher turns personal when the victims have a tenuous connection to Reacher.

And a stronger connection to her.

Alone, carrying nothing but the stuff in her pockets, Otto attempts to find the hostages and quickly becomes embroiled in an ongoing turf war.

Innocent preppers are caught in the fallout as ruthless cartels battling for American drug dollars seek to devastate the community and destroy the people who live there.

After Otto is attacked and nearly killed, she accepts that she needs a partner she can rely on to finish the mission. But viable candidates are thin on the ground.

The best man for the job is Jack Reacher, and he owes her. Problem is, Reacher is always in the wind. She can’t afford to wait.

Otto is forced to execute a daring rescue mission to bring down the cartel’s leader and save the innocent preppers at Glen Haven commune.

Will she die trying? And what about Reacher?

Lee Child gives Diane Capri two thumbs up!

"Full of thrills and tension, but smart and human, too. Kim Otto is a great, great character - I love her." (Lee Child, number one worldwide best-selling author of Jack Reacher Thrillers including The Killing Floor, Die Trying, The Midnight Line, Past Tense, and Blue Moon)

Award winning New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Diane Capri does it again this time using Lee Child's Die Trying as the source material to create another blockbuster Hunt for Jack Reacher Series novel.

Not Jack Reacher but

This title came up when I searched for Jack Reacher. On the title page it says The Hunt for Jack Reacher. That had so little to do with the story that it is almost misleading.
Having said that, the story and narration are good.

Not as enthralling as most of the other series

I found the procedure choices of the storyline to be quite unplausible especially the end. It did reflect the unstable nature of organized crime syndicates and lack of respect for human life.

Getting Closer

Like the expanding Storylines. Looking forward to Otto meeting Reacher after all these near misses. A++

started slow remain slow Got boring but ended stro

I'm about giving up on Diane Capri. If I didn't buy the entire series at one time I wouldn't continue. I find a writing very stale and sophomore. This book was boring the character development was horrible The storytelling itself was thin the plot still not sure what it was and the interspersing of reacher was non-existent .

And it really well better than I expected cuz I'd given up on the book I just wanted to get through it I would have given it one star but the last seven chapters got my interest .

She introduces a character Midway through and that's when it got better I keep hoping these books get better and they're not

Great Series

I have loved this series from the Book to Now, I will continue to add this series to my library. Great Storyline and action. At times, I look over my shoulder as I feel I am part of the story and not just listening to it.

Unimpressed

A bit confusing at times. Distracted by Luis pronounced Lewis. I wasn't overly impressed, though this was my first read (listen) in this series, I may reconsider.

Slow moving- too much talking

I wanted to like this book but it is no Jack Reacher book! It was 10 chapters in before anything happened- just a bunch of dialogue which did’t mean much. The events were so implausible as to be completely uninteresting. I won’t be reading- or listening to any more of these.

Garbage

Good beginning but then turned bad really fast ! I did like how it tied some of the older stories into this one. But after a while u realize it’s starting to suck . Was like them knock off movies they make with “A” actors but u only see them on the cover of the dvd case and 30 seconds at the end . The story line was some what all over the place, at one point the hostages where making a game plan on how to escape and the next moment they are in their way to get shot and buried! Reacher only shows up in the shadows of the story.
