Publisher's Summary

Owning the Stone-Chance Protection Agency has its perks. It’s a profitable company that allows Ramsey and Keilah Stone to enjoy the finer things in life; however, it has also added an element of danger to their otherwise normal lifestyle.

When Keilah was a field agent, she was an excellent marksman, known for being fearless when it came to protecting her clients. Now that she has a baby daughter, she’s lost that competitive edge and longs for a slower life. That might not be possible, though, when the return of a shady ex-lover brings chaos into Keilah’s life.

At home, Ramsey is a warm and caring father and husband, but on the job, he finds it necessary to maintain his tough persona as an ex-military officer. When an unexpected tragedy darkens his doorstep, he finds himself in a cat-and-mouse game with a dangerous assailant. He will be forced to make some very difficult decisions in order to protect his family.

Ummm ok…

The narrator made this book good. The story line was a little all over the place for me. I wasn’t sure if the book was about a women who’s ex lover wanted her back, a man whose ex lover wanted him back, a couple that managed a security company, a kidnapping IDK! However, I kept listening bc the narrator made the book interesting.

What a ride!

I happened on this read by accident. I usually don't pay any attention to the deals included on Audible, but I found this book to be very well written and fast-paced. The characters were well developed and very much relatable. I will have to go and find other books my this author.

The narrator was on point, even with the female voices. He kept me engaged and wanting more. All around a really good book and narration!

Distracting errors ...

How on earth is a narration approved for publication with the narrator mispronouncing the names of two of the main characters throughout the ENTIRE STORY ... hoooowwwww??!!!

I really enjoyed it

I unintentionally read this book out of order, but I was still able to follow everything to know why the events that took place, happened. There were a lot of twists and turns and everybody was a suspect. I enjoyed it a lot and got to like the characters, so I will be reading the first installment next.

That’s why it’s free

This book was super boring. With a weak plot. Story was all over the place. Confusing. With a lot of sexual encounters. No real climax. How on earth did this make it past proofreading? Voice over actor has a lovely voice and did what he could to make this book interesting. But the author fell EXTREMELY SHORT!

Storyline was dope, but...

Glad I found this free read. Needed a break from buying credits...Anyhoo, the storyline was pretty good. But my only gripe is the performance of the narrator. There was ONE voice behind all 50'leven characters! In one chapter, you can get like 8 characters with two different stories, with NO break in between the stories...no pause or anything. So if you're not paying full attn, you could miss the next story, or get confused with which character is talking. Chiiile, but overall, it was a good read/listen.
