Acerca de esta escucha
The book is a follow up to his first release, Woods Cop: 34 Years a State Game Warden, as the author tells stories that could only be shared by someone who patrolled 500 square miles of remote mountainous terrain throughout north-central PA.
Some of the stories provide laugh-out-loud moments as Wasserman details crazy scenarios, such as people he investigated offering excuses that even Hollywood would admire, even when caught red-handed breaking state game laws.
Of course, peril is a constant. Wasserman’s career was pre-cell phones, pitting him alone with often angry hunters that were always armed. In fact, he admits in his newest offering that two of his nemeses in particular always forced him to use extreme caution. He felt, that if given the chance for a clean get away, he feared they would "shoot him in the back."
Poacher's Creed starts where his book Woods Cop stopped, and features many tales that listeners will find humorous.

Historia
Woods Cop is an intense, well written account about a true wildlife warrior and his fight against the criminals who plunder our natural resources. Wasserman’s encounters with hostile, armed poachers in the backwoods of Pennsylvania is sure to keep you resisting pause until the last chapter has been heard. It's a book that will make you think about it long after you put it down. A book about a thin green line of dedicated game wardens, vastly outnumbered, who risk their lives on a daily basis in order to protect our wildlife for future generations to come.

Self-trained survivalists, the outlaws eluded the most sophisticated law enforcement technology on the planet and a pursuit force that represented more than 75 local, state, and federal police agencies with dozens of SWAT teams, U.S. Army Special Forces....

When 25-year-old Harry Walker was killed by a bear in Yellowstone Park in 1972, the civil trial prompted by his death became a proxy for bigger questions about American wilderness management that had been boiling for a century. At immediate issue was whether the Park Service should have done more to keep bears away from humans, but what was revealed as the trial unfolded was just how fruitless our efforts to regulate nature in the parks had always been.

In 1985, two 27-year-old friends left their suburban Detroit homes for a hunting trip in rural Michigan. When they did not return, their families and police suspected foul play. For 18 years, no one could prove a thing. Then, a relentless investigator got a witness to talk, and a horrifying story emerged. In 2003, this bizarre case hit the glare of the criminal justice system, as prosecutors charged two brothers, Raymond and Donald Duvall, with murder.

Great book for young and old outdoor enthusiasts
Wasserman, a retired state game warden, writes about his 34-year career chasing poachers in the backwoods of Pennsylvania. He has a very interesting story about being the first game warden in the state to prosecute a DNA case back in the 1980s. Another great chapter was about patrolling the Yukon Territory of Canada with a Canadian game warden. And with characters like Coyotee Boy, Choo-Choo Twain, and Big Nasty, it was really fun to listen to. The narrator, John Schindele, was excellent! You can't go wrong with this one. Loved it!
