Publisher's Summary

Mistakes were made, okay?

The moment I laid eyes on Kyle Kingston I knew he was a mistake. A satisfying, toe-curling, hair-pulling, best-night-of-my-life mistake, but a mistake all the same. I didn’t yet know his name, or who he was, but I knew he was a bad idea.

I take comfort in that, because it means my instincts are still good. Too late, but it’s something.

Because, FYI, I’m pregnant...

...and did I mention my baby daddy is both heir to a retail empire and impossible to get ahold of?

I do what any girl would. I break into his grandfather’s retirement gala by telling the prissy gatekeeper Kyle’s my fiancé. It was a halfway decent plan at the time, trust me.

But it blows up in my face, disastrously so. You see, Kyle Kingston is all about representing the family values his family’s retail empire was founded on. At least in public. In private - well I’ll tell you about that later.

He proposes - a marriage of convenience.

Convenient for everyone but me, because while I’m falling in love with my convenient husband, he’s keeping a billion-dollar secret. From me.

Plan J

So I thought the plot was okay and I loved the humor and witticisms throughout the story of the chapters I listened to. The female character internalizing thoughts and jumping to the wrong conclusion is par for the course in these kinds of stories. I expected it to be cutesy and an easy listen--at least that was my expectation having read the synopsis and the other reviews. TBH my other and more important expectation was listening to Jason Clarke do his thing. Do his swoony thing, and do that for as many chapters as possible and as long as possible. To recite those words in a manner that somehow elevates any story he narrates--bigtime. I was sorely disappointed on that front. Jason narrated maybe 5 off the 25 chapters.

Now I am not a big fan of Erin Mallon. I hate the breathy elongation of the ending of words that for some reason she chooses to insert in her narration. It's distracting and frankly unnecessary. It doesn't add to the story. It's not dramatic or interesting. It's not engaging or cute. I wish someone would ask her PLUEEZE not to do it. It grates on my nerves and with every announcement of a chapter this annoying habit squandered most of the joy of listening. So, yeah I skipped ALL but three of her chapters but was able to assimilate the gist of the story.

Four stars for performance only due to Jason.

Twin Win!

Okay, to get the whole “twin win” you really have to reference Sure Thing. But this is Daisy’s story. Daisy, I adore you. Kyle, you’re hella hot. The end. No, seriously tho. Daisy meets Kyle on the street. (Not in a prostitute way). Kyle knocks daisy up. Daisy crashes a party to find Kyle. There’s limited drama (serious it’s like 2) and a killa HEA.

Babies- TBD (I’m not spoiling that)
Fat Cats in need of an actual owner- 1. Someone please assume ownership of poor Tubs.
Sexy times - I’m gonna say steam clean worthy. One day, I’ll come up with a better way to rate this. Really, I just have to say *yay*

Very Fun Romantic Comedy

What happens if your not-so-carefully planned out life takes a left turn? Everyone should have a Plan B, right?

Jana Aston’s latest romantic comedy, Plan B, is a hilarious second installment in her Best Laid Plans series. Daisy is first introduced in the absolutely adorable “Sure Thing”, where she has forced her identical twin sister, Violet, to cover for her at work for a week. In Plan B, readers discover the reason behind Daisy’s needed twin switcheroo.

I adored Daisy. Ms. Aston has a knack for creating relatable, quirky heroines who have the perfect balance of self-esteem and self-doubt. No whiny self-loathing, just pure-gold, crazy inner-dialogue. The author creates women who are naturally appealing and reflect the thoughts, desires, doubts that most of us harbor. I don’t know how much of the author is in her heroines, but I feel like she has captured some part of me in each of them.

When Daisy hunts down her one-night-stand-turned-baby-daddy, the laughs begin. Since the woman is not much for planning, she easily gets in over her head rather easily! Kyle Kingston—the baby daddy--is yet another example of the author’s fantastic leading men. Again, Aston gives her readers exactly what they desire most, a successful in his field, slightly more experienced, gorgeous hunk. Kyle must have some flaws, right? I only saw a guy who made a couple small mistakes as a result of protecting the family legacy/image. The guy is near perfect and totally lovable.

The secondary characters are equally endearing. Kyle’s sister, Kerrigan, is delightful. Her bubbly energy is charming. I would have loved a little more of the Kingston grandparents.

Ms. Aston’s natural comedic timing is evident throughout the book. The elevator scenes with Kyle’s neighbor are laugh-out-loud funny. Whether a comedic scene or a sexy scene, the author’s writing flows. The plot is realistic and focused. The characters and dialogue always felt organic, no matter how zany the situation. The vibe between Daisy and Kyle is absolutely electric!

The straightforward storyline and engaging characters make Plan B by Jana Aston a funny, quick read. The mild conflict and easy resolution make for a perfect reading escape. A super fun read that I highly recommend.

The plan was fantastic

So far I've listened to nearly every book by Jana Aston, and none have disappointed me. This one was no different. It was long anticipated for. While it came out on the Kindle first, I was so keen to read it, that I got that first and then the audible edition.

Finally hearing Daisy's story was good too. I love the erratic way her mind works and really Kyle deserves a gold medal for keeping up with her. She is crazy but so loveable, I want to be her. The story was as expected. Listening to two of my favourite narrators was also a bonus. I love Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon, while she took me a while to get used to in the first book I listened to that she had narrated has now become a firm favourite.

One of the things I especially loved about this book was catching up a bit with Luke and Sophie from the first book by Jana. I love it when books bring back characters so you can hear how they are going after their story has finished.

So worth the kindle version and the credit for audible. Even without the credit I would have paid for it. Loved it. Thank you Jana Aston. When will we hear Cannon's story.

Funny surprise baby with so much heart!

Preface by saying I love everything Jana writes and she is a one click author for me. Erin is also my fav but she with Jana is like the perfect combination. She gets the humor and the snarkiness on top of the sexy time. Then you add Jason Clarke and it’s like sigh. He has the most amazing voice that just draws you in. Daisy is independent and her internal dialogue is a laugh fest. Love having characters from her previous books woven in the story because now I need to go back and relisten to their stories. Again. I don’t know how Jana does it but I hope she never stops.

Awful. DNF

I love Jana Aston, except for the fact that she can’t hire a decent editor or proofreader. However, 90% of this book is Daisy in her head, which is just a bunch of silly rambling. As in all of JA’s books, she recycles a lot of material with every book, including exact conversations, word for word. With all that said, her books are usually great stories with hot scenes.
This book has none of that. Just a rambling woman and no steam. Awful. I’ve given up and don’t even care how this ends.

Even better the second time!

Plan B is my very first audiobook ever, and I was very excited to listen after enjoying the ebook. I have to say, I was not disappointed. I loved the dual narrator POV voices (Jason Clarke’s voice especially ), it gave the story something extra & I enjoyed the story even more the second time.

Plan B was a short, but fun story to listen to. A surprise pregnancy & marriage of convenience with a hot billionaire is always a favorite of mine. If you’ve read Sure Thing by Jana, you’ve briefly met Daisy, she knows who she is & doesn’t apologize for it. She was quite funny and never boring, you can’t help but smile when listening to her P.O.V.
We also get Kyle’s P.O.V and it was nice to see how he truly felt about Daisy. I loved them together! They were a bit different from each other but just seemed to work well. I definitely wish this was a longer story to get more of them.

Kyle & Daisy

I love Kyle and Daisy! This story is great just from Daisy’s perspective but I love getting Kyle’s as well. Their story is a little crazy, very hot, and just so good. The visit with Jennings and Violet is a perfect ending for me.

Baby

I love the narrators of this story they really bring Jana' s words to life.

Plan B is the sequel to Sure Thing, but don't worry if you've not read/ listened to it, I would because you're missing out if you don't but it's not essential to Plan B. These books revolve around twin sisters Violet & Daisy Hayden. In Sure Thing, Daisy talks Violet into doing her job for a week, now in Plan B we find out why the twin swap was necessary.
Daisy is in Philadelphia, to get there she dallied in a little internet stalking, just to be polite mind you, it's good manners you see to inform your one night stand that he knock you up. That's how she finds herself in the middle of a retirement party, newly fake engaged to her baby daddy Kyle Kingston, CEO of a huge chain of family run department stores. Not that she's fazed by this Daisy lives life as it comes. So the marriage of convenience/propriety which Kyle proposes, she takes in her stride, even though she'd planned to have the baby by herself.
Daisy & Kyle have chemistry in spade loads, but this is truly a tale of opposites attract. Where Daisy is seat of her pants, Kyle is responsibility (well except for the whole one night stand thing).
I swooned over Kyle so much, he is quieter than most rom com leading men, but man can he deliver good swoon. Daisy is witty & adventurous, her banter & one liners are hilarious.

Hilarious Romcom

This was the first time I’ve managed to listen to an audiobook right through to the end. When I’ve tried it before I have cringed way too much at the actors voices and had to stop listening. With Plan B the actors were actually fine to listen to and by a few chapters in I was visualising the story like I was watching a film.
It took me a while to get the audio to a speed that was enjoyable but once I did I was hooked.

I loved the story, Daisy is just hilarious and definitely makes things more interesting. Kyle is swoon worthy and the perfect hero.
The bantering and one liner come backs between the pair had me laughing out loud, which looks very strange when you’re listening to the audiobook in the gym, struggling to the point of almost needing oxygen on the cross trainer but then daisy hits you with a one liner and you can’t keep the laughter in.

After listening to Plan B I’m now looking forward to giving other audiobooks a go.

Brilliant

Jana Aston is one of those authors whose books I always look forward to as they always manage to put a smile on my face.

This is part 2 of the Best Laid Plans series, but can also be listened to as a stand-alone perfectly fine. In the first book Sure Thing, we saw Violet switch places with her twin Daisy, and in Plan B we get to see Daisy’s side of what happened.

Daisy is such a great character and her and Kyle together make for a great story, as they have so much banter! In typical Jana style, this book made me laugh so much and I couldn’t stop listening! In fact, I’m planning on relistening to it again to make sure I took everything in!

I really can not recommend Jana’s books enough!

I loved it!

Nothing makes me laugh like a Jana Aston book and Plan B is no exception. The banter between Kyle and Daisy is hilarious at times, and when they’re together their chemistry is sizzling hot. Throw in an accidental pregnancy and a marriage of convenience, then you have an absolute must read! And well done to the narrators who brought these fantastic characters to life.

Twin Win!

Daisy is pretty on top of her life being a tour guide for Sutton’s travel plus running a successful travel blog. She’s less successful with the men she picks so has decided to keep away for a while until bumping into Kyle Kingston whilst snapping pics for her blog. Here ensues the moment that will dramatically change her life.
I’ve been waiting for this book for a while, ever since I read Violet’s story in ‘Sure Thing’ I wondered what was happening with her twin sister Daisy. Daisy was always the impetuous wild twin compared to Violet, who was always the good twin planning her life and not breaking the rules. Well this didn’t disappoint but don’t worry they run simultaneously so it doesn’t matter which order you read them in. Jana I totally love your books and can’t wait for the next one!

Loved Kyle’s chapters

Liked the story. Loved Jason Clarke’s narration. I don’t enjoy the drawn out endings of words and the sing song way Erin Mallon reads.
