In this irresistible mystery from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Joanne Fluke, Hannah Swensen is at the center of a lively summer fest with fun for everyone in Lake Eden, Minnesota—including a cold-blooded murderer....

The Tri-County Summer Solstice Celebration has come to town, and even among local artisans, athletes, and marching bands, Hannah attracts fans of her own while serving lip-smacking pink lemonade desserts. But the mood sours when a body turns up, leading revelers to wonder if the festivities mark both the longest day of the year and the deadliest....

A retired professional MLB player has met a terrifying end—and, considering the rumors swirling about his past, the list of suspects could fill a small stadium. Among them could soon be Delores, Hannah’s mother, who publicly held a grudge against the victim after he infamously dunked her in the tank at a previous county fair....

Now, with her mother’s innocence on the line, a life-changing announcement at The Cookie Jar, and a plethora of desserts to bake, Hannah can’t afford to strike out as she begins a dangerous investigation into the ruthless killer who’s truly in a league of their own....

Features Over a Dozen Cookie and Dessert Recipes from The Cookie Jar!

This started slow. it seems like the author just tries to throw in a bunch of recipes rather than a true storyline. it doesn't improve until close to the end when it sets up for the next book.

not one of the best Hannah series novels

Always looking forward to the next book in the series. The characters are fun, and quirky, and “real”. A lot of good recipes, even if some are a bit out-dated. Also enjoy the Midwest lore and customs.

This is a wonderful series of books. Each story is dodo and they keep you guessing. The characters stories are funny and work so well together. Love the recipes! Can’t wait for the next one!

I generally love these books, but this one felt like a cookbook with a tiny story sprinkled in. Kind of disappointed.

I never would have guessed the ending. I love listening to Joanna clues in her books.

Best one yet

I’ve read all of Joanne Fluke’s mysteries. This one was very disappointing. I could hardly get through it with the reader and the voices she used for the different characters. But I decided to trudge on. I am glad I did, even though the storyline didn’t get better the ending is exciting. This book was a tough read or should I say listen.

Disappointing

I have practically binged listend to this entire series for the past two months. I like the overall series, but I started noticing the the past story lines change in later books. The first I noticed was when the recurring antidote of whose steak the cats ate changed. Then in this book, the entire concept of Delores is actually who dunked "No No" and she didn't get dunked. His embarrassing her and saying it was a lucky shot would have made for a good story line and fit right in instead of changing things around. Continuity is important in series and frustrating when it is changed. Then add in that the recipes are getting longer and less "from scratch" takes away from the story. This book like others have said is almost like a cookbook sprinkled with a mediocre story. I hope the the author goes back to more interesting story line with plot twists and less filler.

what happened?

Was disappointed in thus book. There were a few inconsistencies, where something was said or done and the next sentence or paragraph seemed to completely ignore the fact. Also way too much explaining an idea. I noticed this in her last couple of books, but way worse in this book.

not her best

Too many recipes. Would have rather all the recipes be towards the end of the book
