The book of Genesis is God’s autobiography and the foundation upon which all revelation rests. The purpose of this book is to give the origin of all things, including the cosmic order of the universe and the covenant relationship between God and his people. Speaking the Word from his eternal dwelling place of light, God fashioned everything from nothing, perfectly displaying his awesome wonder. We will never be able to take the mystery out of creation, for a God who is incomprehensible in his greatness accomplished it.

Story
Whether our notions of "God" are personal projections or inherited traditions, author and theologian Brad Jersak proposes a radical reassessment, arguing for a more Christlike God and a more beautiful Gospel. A More Christlike God suggests that such a God would be very good news indeed - a God who Jesus "unwrathed" from dead religion, a love that is always toward us, and a grace that pours into this suffering world through willing, human partners.

Story
David Bentley Hart undertook this new translation of the New Testament in the spirit of "etsi doctrina non daretur", "as if doctrine is not given". Reproducing the texts' often fragmentary formulations without augmentation or correction, he has produced a pitilessly literal translation, one that captures the texts' impenetrability and unfinished quality while awakening listeners to an uncanniness that often lies hidden beneath doctrinal layers.

Story
Peter Hiett argues that Genesis chapter one is the history of time - all time. And his-story is the genesis of you. The deepest story is that God is making you in his image and will not fail. Jesus is his word, and even when we nail him to the tree - especially when we nail him to the tree - he does not fail. Even though we wrote ourselves out of the story; even though we cursed the word, crucified the plot and damned ourselves, even that is a story within the story - the father’s story: The History of Time and the Genesis of You.

Story
The great fourth-century church father Basil of Caesarea once observed that, in his time, most Christians believed that hell was not everlasting, and that all would eventually attain salvation. But today, this view is no longer prevalent within Christian communities. In this momentous book, David Bentley Hart makes the case that nearly two millennia of dogmatic tradition have misled readers on the crucial matter of universal salvation.

Thank you Francois!
Two years ago I bought a copy of the Mirror Word translation, and I was blown away with the descriptions of the original language(s) and clarity of the message. My initial search was for the full audio version but I was happy just to see Philippians on Audible. Francois' voice is very relaxing as a narrator, and on top of that he's preaching the Gospel. At several points during the audio book there were moments that made me laugh and cry at the same time, such as when he explained the meaning of the Greek word 'righteousness', and after listening to the book all the way through, now I feel stuck to my chair because of the rest I feel inside...

Words so rich and deep in meaning.
This Mirror translation and commentary is so rich with depth of meaning. Each sentence accompanied by the commentary denotes an endeavour to draw out as much of the meaning as can be accomplished by the writer. The extra descriptions and teasing out of the words used in the original language helps to reveal more of the depth of God's love that would otherwise be missed. It is easy to
listen to and the reader does not get lost in commentaries with any highfalutin jargon. It reveals a broader understanding of the freedom and joy made available in the salvation plan. I would highly recommend this audio book as well as the current New Testament Mirror Bible in paperback.
