Publisher's summary

Penelope - golden haired, azure eyed, fresh from the country - has stolen the heart of the most desirable Earl of Hestleton. Rich and startlingly handsome, he is the most eligible lord in the realm. He had planned to toy with her affections and then toss her aside, but when the earl discovers that he is a pawn in her aunt's social-climbing scheme, he begins to doubt Penelope's true love. Can the belle keep her beau, or will "Aunt Augusta's" ambitious plans force Penelope to flee?

Finally a good narrator....

Too many of these Beaton/Chesney books have such a horrible narrator. Since I listen more than read I find it REALLY makes a difference! But I'll spare you my bad narrator rant.

I was surprised to be this disappointed

I never listen to the naysayers on reviews of Beaton/Chesney books, because even the most silly are so much fun. Imagine my surprise, then, when I come across one of her books with NO bad reviews, and discover it to be quite disappointing. I wouldn’t say it is terrible, but it’s far below her others. Furthermore, I would rather have Charlotte Ann Dore instead of this narrator. Just… meh.

NARRATOR

Sorry, NOT sorry. This narrator sucks and this was a waste of my credits.
