Twisted fun

I really enjoyed the plot twist totally blew me away! I’m like was I even listening… what l just happened?
It had fun love in it as well.

Great twists

This book totally surprised me and I am a 20 year Police veteran. It left more questions than answered so hopefully the sequel will be just as good!

Great story

Truly enjoyed. I love when I’m surprised by the end of a mystery. Entertaining story, nice chemistry between MCs Narration was very good.

pretty good!

Love that these books exist. Was glad to read the realistic nature the intimate scenes; often when reading same-sex intimate scenes it can feel like the author has never actually experienced it because some of the descriptions aren't physically possible. But I appreciated that these were scenes were realistic... I felt the story was good but could have been better somehow -- like if we started in Kate Wolfe's actual life before her transfer or something. I think it's just that you know all the basic truths to the big mysteries at the start...
No matter though, I'm so grateful for books like these and writers like these. Lastly, the reason I gave the story 5 stars instead of 4: there is absolutely no internalized homophobia in this (that I can remember). There is no apologizing for being gay, there is no hiding the fact that they're gay, there is none of that which I think perpetuates both internalized and straight homophobia. People read things like lesbians hiding their relationship and they're beliefs are affirmed, like there's something to be ashamed of or something that's abnormal. There was nothing like that in this book, and it was so refreshing.

Nice twist

It’s good to read a romance that is surprising. Stories can get predictable but this one isn’t.

Being with Lexi

I have never read anything by this author before but she is really talented. Just when you think you have it all figured out there is a sudden twist that jerks on your heartstrings. Excellent job Ms. Mills

Anger Management

My first thought with Kate was that the woman needed anger management. Of course things change throughout the book and more things come to light.

So good!

A new author for me. This is a page turner, full of suspense and police drama. Smart, strong women characters, and a simple crime scene that turns complicated. Wow, I didn’t see the twists coming. Also, Sienna Frances is an excellent narrator, who brings every character to life for the listener. She doesn’t just read the book to you; she acts it out. Her male voices and accents were dead on! So glad I discovered Charlotte Mills’s books. I will now listen to the sequel to this book, Fair Game, and Mills other books. Will also look for Sienna’s other narrations.

Captivating

As I worked quietly in my studio it dawned on me that I was not listening to the normal run of the mill WLW genre. This plot was really well laid out, a cut above the rest I may add. To my utter delight there is a second book!!!!! The author, Charlotte Mill's has a new fan and with any luck the narrator Sienna Frances will continue to thrill my ears.
