Narrator a Bit OTT, But Story Good

It’s Christmas in July in this paranormal Southern town… it’s snowing! But that’s not all that’s amiss. Studmuffin, the heroine’s familiar, has been cat-napped. Romance is afoot as our heroine chooses between Travis and the local detective. Our heroine also awaits news about fulfilling her dream of attending college. Near the end of the book, she decides to take on a new leadership role within the magical community. A lot is going on in Book 5 of this series! The narrator of this audiobook goes OTT with all the Southern accents; it got to be a bit much at times. I could only take a little of the book at a time. She certainly gave the book a sense of place. I think she made the heroine sound a bit over-excitable as well. Despite these annoyances, I enjoyed this paranormal cozy.

A Wonderful Witchy Finale!!

This mystery picks up where the last book left off and good thing, too! Stud Muffin is missing and Vic and Co need to find him, quick!
It's snowing in the summer, but Bernadette can take it and help Vic get around trying to find Stud Muffin and making some surprising friends along the way.
This is a fun little mystery with plenty of faces from previous books and a wonderful way to end the series.

I really liked the ending! It was such a nice way to finish and also leave options open for more adventures in the future. And I do hope the author revisits this series and makes more stories! Victoria, Stud Muffin, Travis, Mr Shiny - I mean Detective Palmer, Boxy, Cass, and everyone else were so much fun to go on adventures with!

I'm glad the narrator stayed the same throughout the series. I just like that consistency because it keeps the voices of the characters the same and it's easier to figure out who is who. The narrator does a wonderful job with all of the voices, both male and female. Her southern accent does leave some to be desired, but it's not distracting to the story. I listened at 1.1x speed.

Light reading

Book 5 in the series. It is very light hearted and would be a good book to curl up with on a rainy day, or while waiting for an appointment. I found it easy to pick up where I left off, without feeling I need to reread to bring myself back up to speed. Narration was good.
